Humanity stopped being nomadic and moved forward because of religion.

Knowledge is power. The more you know about people, the less hostile you will be towards each other. If you know nothing about Russia or the middle east, for example, it will be easier for you to believe propaganda about everyone of them being monsters and you will never see them as people

So, the school doesn't teach Islamism, it teaches about Islamism (and other world religions). That's fine by me. Religious indoctrination at school or otherwise I disagree with. In my opinion religious freedom for the child means it can choose it's religion after it get's 18. Before that no child is a christian, moslem ior whatever, that is religious indoctrination by the parents. So childs should not attend religious services, shouldn't have religion school and stuff like that. But learning about which religions exists in which part of the world is like learning which foods they eat or which sports they do. Nothing wrong with that.

It doesn't make any sense teaching religion on schools, and that's coming from a Catholic. I was never taught religion on any school, apart from Saturdays at church.

By teaching religion in school do you mean like religious education like we have here in the UK where we learn about different religions for people to have better understanding of each other?

They should teach about it by just reading the old testament and Quran. Everyone will be atheists within a decade.

Really, you have to ask that? What brought people together thousands of years ago? Religion. Without it you'd probably still be hunting animals.
