I can say the same about GTA,COD,FIFA, etc.

this was how i felt with botw. i sold it half way through. i couldnt stand it. and im a huge zelda fan! even have hyrule historia book. but it felt so boring and the fighting was not deep like witcher 3. *like changing signs* many times mid fight to defeat the monster how you like to do it.

i wish they make a witcher 4! i need another 400 hours of it! im not reading the last book because i dont want it to end! maybe i'll re-read the first 6 books? hehe

Ive always liked Zelda games, but I love Wind Waker. BOTW just feels like WW on land imo. I really love it, but to each their own

I'll have to give it a try someday, but the combat was always been what held me to not playing like. |
The combat is better than Skyrims, far more fun, but the hit detection of some enemies can be infuriating, the first 'boss' being a prime example. You can't button mash unless on easy difficulties. The mix of buff magic + bombs + agile swordplay is when it hits peak coolness.

You hit the nail in the head. On higher difficulties you really have to make use of the oils, potions, bombs and know your enemy's weaknesses, strategy and effective swordplay, it's ARPG done right.
I think most people complaning about the gameplay played it on medium-easy difficulties.
I can't add much as I haven't played 3 but I wonder the same thing about the first one. Gameplay was awful and couldn't play more than a few hours. Someday I'll give it another chance I guess
I am quite surprised at the responses in this thread. I thought TW3 was loved very much but in here it's dipping below 50/50 in favor.
That said, I expected to really enjoy TW3 but I didn't. I tried to get back into the game several times but never was interested enough to maintain playing it. It looks great, and knowing myself I should enjoy it, but for some reason it doesn't grab me, although Gwent is awesome!
yeah, it's a western rpg masterpiece, and the DLC is a fantastic addition. (the combat is shit tho, like, really shit)
It took about six hours into it. After that it went from being a meh game to a wonderful game.
