Common sense seems to subjective, the real concern is true motives. Hence, give them an inch and eventually its incredibly difficult legally get a gun.

I'm not blaming the democrats for the healthcare replacment for failing, but they shouldn't stand in the way of common sense things like proper border security.

We just had a left wing president drive up the national debt, Hillary or Bernie would have likely done the same. If Trump does the same, oh well. Objectively it seems inevitable with the leaders this country chooses. Bottomline, I really don't wanna hear left wingers bitching about the debt after Obama.

LOL I might not be a expert about politics but Obama isn't and wasn't a left wing president.  The only people that think that Obama is a leftist are the people on the far right and people that are totally clueless about politics those people for the most part also believe that he is a Muslim and was born in Kenya.

Democrats, including Obama, go as left as possible politicially without pushing away too much of their base. Republicans have moved to the center for similar reasons.

You people on the left have a tendency to argue semantics which is a big waste of time. Left wing by definition is pretty much democrats in a nutshell.

No, the Democrats are not left wing. It's not semantics. They try to censor mentions of socialism:

They also explicitely mention that they're capitalists:

Democrats are much closer to Republicans than to leftists.

Well, I think Obamacare is here to stay. It'll either be tweaked and 'fixed' by the Democrats or changed slightly by the Republicans. It may take a different form, but I don't think it'll ever disappear

If anything I think democrats try to have it both ways.

Pushing left wing agendas while pretending to be in the center because they aren't commies. Although, people like Bernie and his supporters seem to be sympathetic or even open to communism.

Basically, left wing is the catch all term for more socialism, communism, big governement, etc. Not just the extreme.

Pushing left wing agenda really I doubt it, both Democrats and Republicans are corparte whores that push the agenda of the people that gave them the most in donations.  Also when it comes to goverment spendig Republicans always spend more because they love to spend money on defense spending and that is pretty much the biggest money pit you can spend money on.  It only benefits a select few but it is very expensive and a lot of people get rich of it.

I don't think appeasing their donors is the whole story... but okay.

Military spending isn't the country's largest expense, I mean its a fraction of healthcare, entitlements, handouts, etc. So I'm not gonna defend military spending, but its not why this country is going broke per se.

I think you need to do some more research we spend more on our military then the next seven countries combined.  It costs $4 million dollars a year to keep one soldier in Afghanistan.  The majority of deficit spending since Reagan is due to military spending.

Bernie Sanders supporters don't even know what socialism is, they think it's the same thing as social democracy. The Democrats aren't socialist, and they aren't communist, so the only one of the three left is big government, which does not make something leftist. Unless you also consider Republicans as left wing, because they are enlarging the military, increasing border security, and their president wants more "law and order" by having more policemen. That sure sounds like big government to me.

I don't think you're listening. Our military budget is indeed massive and arguably should be cut or used for efficiently, but its not the most of our budget, its not half of our budget, its not a quarter of our budget (not yet atleast).

Most of our budget is basically healthcare/medicare and entitlements, that's where spending is most out of control. Our military budget is fraction of that stuff.

People on the left speak as if the miltary spending is most of our budget and its the sole reason we have debt. But much of our spending goes elsewhere, there are also other things we waste too much money on.
