Military spending isn't the country's largest expense, I mean its a fraction of healthcare, entitlements, handouts, etc. So I'm not gonna defend military spending, but its not why this country is going broke per se.

I think you need to do some more research we spend more on our military then the next seven countries combined.  It costs $4 million dollars a year to keep one soldier in Afghanistan.  The majority of deficit spending since Reagan is due to military spending.
