Is this legit, you can't make a white character in the game?

That's bullshit. The Character Creator has serious issue IMO. However, there is no need for people to make up issues that don't exist.

Games tend to go down not up.  Were probably looking at low 70's.

Have to disagree with the MS part. I can't see why anyone would want a talented studio to be bought by them given their history and making their teams focus on the same thing over and over again. Don't think they would be any better off under them

Should have just stayed independent

Staying independent isn't always an option though. Don't know the exact situation for Bioware but if they accepted a buyout from EA of all people it may well have been because they had some financial issues and couldn't have survived without it.

Besides, they've pretty much done the same thing over and over at EA anyway, so MS couldn't have been any worse in that respect. Maybe the negative reception of MEA will finally get them to make a new IP again rather than continuously going back and forward between DA and ME.

well apparently a new IP is what the 'A' team is working on, and they handed Mass Effect off to a new, untested studio

there is a lot of pressure on that new IP now

Proving brand name once again can get good scores and a terrible game.

I have all Bioware PS3 games and I'm not getting this for PS4 because I can't stand SJW.

That's a poor excuse. What did Bioware do to you?

75 is still a green score, how is that a terrible score? lol.

There are 40 games so far released this year with a higher meta score, and we are talking about a US$40 million game with a 5 year development cycle.

Of course a lot of very reasonable expectations have not been achieved here.

It's not that 75 is a bad score overall, but taking it in the context of other Mass Effect and even other BioWare games, that's where things start to look bad.

It's unfortunate, I was really looking forward to the game. I'll still play it, but seeing some of the insight into the story and characters, it seems like a real fall from grace for what used to be one of my favorite series of all-time.

Well, 75 is not a bad score, I understand the expectations might once have been higher, based on series score pattern, budget, dev cycle, etc, so yeah, it sounds like a dissapointment, but 75 is not a bad score on itself, as I said, it's still on the green part on Metacritic, it means it's a positive score.

Damage control much?

Really is a shame my two favorite space franchises Star Ocean and Mass Effect are having troubles. If anything I would prefer a downsize in graphics and animations in order to achieve the space fantasy.

Doesn't help that it released right after Horizon, which has great animations and acting (at least as far as I've seen for the latter.) The fact that ME:A not only seems a step down from games released around the same time, but even the last 3 ME games that launched years ago, isn't acceptable. Not with the budget and time put into the game.

@ OP

I might pick this up from the bargain bin, but that's about it. 75 is a good score, but still doesn't interest me too much. Would have preferred a remaster of the first 3, with Pro support for 4K.
