Forums - Gaming - Dual Analog Aiming Sucks, Hail Motion Aiming

I am infamously anti-motion controls and still am. I know I would not prefer it to analogue. I cant stand it

Didn't PS3 have this with Sixaxis and use it for that awesome game Lair? PS4 took it out right?

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

I wouldn't say dual analog sucks, simply that I like having the option for gyro aiming.

More often than not, the Steam Controller is the de facto controller for me to use in [slower aiming] FPS games due to the touchpad and gyro aiming. If I could use that with the Switch, I most certainly would!

Dualshock 4 has the sixaxis.  Very few games use it...

I agree, after playing shooters with a mouse and keyboard, trying to aim with sticks is a chore for me.

I love motion controls for aiming in Zelda BOTW, Splatoon 2 (I got to demo it), and Gravity Rush.

GR has motion aiming eh? Good on them for embracing motion aiming. Does GR2 have it?

As for OP, YES! Motion aiming is the future (or should be) of aiming on non-PC hardware! I can't go back to aiming with sticks.

Maybe I should give it a shot. I disabled the option right away in Zelda. I wasn't a fan of motion aiming in other games. Both Skyward Sword and Splatoon annoyed me because I couldn't use an IR pointer.

It's not like stick aiming is a good solution, but it feels less confusing than combining stick and motion.

What's confusing about it? Sticks for drastic and rapid aiming, tilt control for fine-tuning your aim.

This approach grants both your hands finer aiming control and leaves your thumb on the stick the task of harder adjusting. It's like having two sensitivities as opposed to just the one you get with one thumbstick.

When motion sensing is done correctly like with the joy-cons, it's a joy to play. You become more stable in your aim and can react faster I feel.

I would've quit BOTW already if it didn't have motion aiming.

Exactly it's a hard game, but the motion control, especially with how vital usage of your bow/arrow is evens the odds quite a bit.

I've never been one of those die hard FPS shooter guys, but on Zelda even I can consistently aim, fire, and get head shots in again and again. It feels great to have a game respond how I want rather than wrestling with the controls.

Nintendo is really ahead of the pack here versus the rest of the industry on this, they are just doing it the old way because that's how it's always been done, but this is better.

Gee I wonder why, maybe it's cuz you get slow mo? You sneak on yo enemies? Wowzers, mad skills!

Also like someone said, sick of the attitude that there can only be 1 good thing ever and everything else is supposed to suck.

Eww, not at all. I turned off motion controls in Splatoon pretty quickly.

My 8th gen collection

I agree 100%. Hate first and third person shooters with dual analog controls. One of the reasons I never considered getting a PS4 or XB1.
