So better than ps4pro, slim and xbox1s?

Which console release counts as a one in several years? Does this include all the VR headsets and the enhancement stuff (PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim)?

This statement is useless imo.

It said it was one of the strongest launches of the last few years. It never said the strongest.

^^ this,

So what was the launch of the XBO and PS4... i cannot remember... They were around 1m right? Let's be honest here even if they only do 700 thats still going to be the best selling console for the month, and even with say a 50% drop off, they should still be in with a very good chance of winning the next as well (considering stock issues).

PS4 was 1M the first day... In the US only. 250K for the first 48h in the UK, so surely close to 1M in total for the EU launch too. 320K for the first 2 days in Japan. So with an aligned launch, it should be close to 2,5M or more for the first 2 days. Nintendo was planning to sell 2M in the first month for the Switch. It's unlikely that the Switch had a launch as strong as the PS4, or even the XOne.

just for the record i dont believe the statement and think the switch sold maybe 20% of ps4 did at launch.

but if it did! good for ninty! I want more competition in the gaming world otherwise we will have 1 who can charge anything they want.

Wasn't the PS4 launch the biggest of all time? If it was higher than that I guess he would've used other terms

Probably means higher than ps4pro

No it is not.

Xbox 1:

November 22, 2013

PS4:

November 15, 2013

around 3.2years ago.  So since 3.2 is less then 7 gamestop means the Switch had a better launch then the x1 and ps4. interesting! good for ninty!

in 8 months it will be Nov 2017 and hit 4 year mark of the other 2 major consoles.

Yeah, and it depends on your definition of 'several' years. 2-3 years for me is several years.

Unless you think it's beaten the launches of PS4/XB1 and sold over a million in the first day?

Nothing from Nintendo, so I doubt it.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I guess Several means MORE THEN A COUPLE "2" but less then 10.

so several years is 3-9 years? or 3-7 years? depends on your thinking

So yea the xbox 1 and ps4 are 3 years old and a couple months so they fit into the statement of several years.

Several typically means 3, possibly 4 years. I've never seen anyone even stretch it to 5 before though, let alone 7 or 9.

Oh and FYI the bolded should be than, with an a. Than and then are different words and mean different things.

Oh and @ those automatically assuming that any suggestion it could be better than the PS4/XOne launch is wrong... well no, it could be actually. Firstly, this is only Gamestop we're talking about, Gamestop could have had a bigger Switch launch than PS4/XOne but total global sales still be lower. Secondly, total global sales could well be higher. PS4/XOne weren't worldwide launches, the Switch was...

well Nintendo need good sales PR desperately after Wii U, so if the launch is that good we should hear something very soon

i doubt we will though

Even Gamestop is calling it a Console

Pocky Lover Boy!

All I've taken from this is the launch went better or as good as Xbox one s/ps4 pro...which is something I suppose.

I hope it only gets better from here.
