Talking about bullshit.

Do you know mobile phones can handle VR? lol, The comment about XBO makes no sense, and this is not an official announcement to the public, they are not expecting you to believe anyrthing this are actual things they are working on.

Comparing Google Cardboard VR and VR like Oculus Rift is the real bullshit here.

Yeah, Nintendo can sell a Nintendo Cardboard later (but the mobiles cardboard will be better because of the screen). But they can't do a real VR solution. The whole industry needs power to make VR work, Nintendo won't magically make VR work without power.

It is still a VR experience, no matter how simple or cheap it is.

Having said that, I dont think it will happen with the Switch, due to reasons I said in my other comments. If it happens, it will be with the Seitch 2 or wathever they will call it.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The 3DS does VR at ~3% in the form of AR games (AR@100%=VR).

What ?

AR works the same way as VR except VR covers 100% of everything your eyes can see whereas AR only covers some of what you can see.

There's an AR game on 3DS where you spin round shooting people's faces. If you put your head in a cardboard box and cut a hole for the 3DS screen, you've just built yourself a shitty AR headset. Put Mario Kart on with a first person view and you have a crappy VR headset.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

I doubt I'd enjoy it. I've tried the Vive, and that's awesome (but not 600$ awesome), but I don't think the Switch is capable of producing VR good enough that I'd like it at all.

That's not how it works. Not at all.

What you're describing as "100% AR = VR" isn't VR but just a game with a gyroscope. You can use Gravity Rush as an example, you can see all around your character by turning the console. But it's absolutely not AR, and not VR. You could add 3D to that and it's still wouldn't be either AR or VR.

AR covers part of the camera feed. VR doesn't cover anything, it's a full screen with absolutely nothing from the camera feed on it. And the screens are completely different too, like the full technologies behind it.

You really are trying to compare apples and oranges by saying "100% orange juice = Apple juice".

Nintendo should make Nintendo Switch a console worth to buy before they do anything with VR.

The amout of bullshit these guys try to sell is just amazing.

The xbox 1 cant handle VR, the best they can do is some game streaming to the rift on a virtual room. Now they expect us to believe a handheld device that isnt even half as powerful as the XB1 will do VR.

Next time they will piss on our faces and say it's raining

My phone has vr and also a 2k screen. It costed about $900 when i bought it.

The only vr that it does is video and even that is not of good quality compared to the psvr for example.

So yeah... Nintendo is selling straight up bullshit here

So a console that works as a handheld isn't worth it? It's even stronger than the Wii u and has 100 games confirmed for it...what more could you desire? Face it, it won't be more powerful than the ps4. Doesn't make it garbage

Until we get transparent displays, the only way to do AR is with a camera feed -> display. The holy grail of AR wouldn't use a camera at all.

If I wanted to play an AR game in the Mushroom Kingdom instead of my living room, the camera feed would be turned off and changed to a Mushroom Kingdom background instead. If the screen was right in front of my eyes delivering 3D then it'd be VR.

The people that defended Vita as the best thing ever and now shits on how worthless is the Switch are the most reliable ones, no doubt.
