Forums - Nintendo - Switch has in development over 100 titles from more than 70 publishers

There are already 15-20 games in at least semi-interested. To me the list of announced games so far is pretty solid if you disregard the AAA western third parties, which I'm usually not crazy about anyway.

The lineup is really strong when it comes to Indies, and I'd wager many of those additional 20 or so games are indie, but that's fine by me. I feel like Indies are overlooked by some gaming snobs because of the lack of hype and being low budget, but there are some real gems out there if you look for them. I have to play a lot of Indies to review for a gaming site I'm writing for and I've played some surprisingly great ones on Steam. And hell, some of what grew into more major titles, like Minecraft and even GTA began as Indies. As long as they're more budget priced in Switch there are plenty I wouldn't mind trying out.

While I'm sure more of the traditional blockbuster AAA titles will eventually join the list, particularly if the console is the success I think it will be - if it remains primarily a Japanese/Nintendo/Indie console with the occasional port, I'm fine with that. I've got my XB one to cover the big western titles anyway. Switch would make the perfect companion console to that, like Wii was w/360.

Another cool factor is that this is the first time many of these indie titles will be released on a physical format. I think there is something to be said for that that many overlook. Anyway, getting a bit off topic there but what can I say, I enjoy talking lineups for new consoles, especially when it's a Nintendo console :P

Good to have confirmation, you can get a taste of them from that updated fanmade lineup pic, lots of indies making up that number.

A lot of indies? The whole picture is all indies and ports except for a handful of games.

That sounds like Ps4 first year

You obviously weren't there during the first year... Because what you just said is simply false.

I wasn't there but I remember the "Ps4 has only ports and indies" comments were something quite common to hear back then.

So indies and ports don't count, lol? How many games did the PS4 launch with that weren't last-gen ports or indie games? Like really, I think it only had Knack for the first months, that line-up was terrible according to your logic.

Anyway the following games aren't indies:

Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch, Arms, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Fire Emblem Warriors, Sonic Mania, Project Sonic 2017, Project Octopath Travellers, No More Heroes, Super Bomberman R, Just Dance 2017, Lego Worlds, NBA2K2018, Fifa, Skyrim, Pokémon, Steep, Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem, Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition, Dragon Quest Heroes I + II, Dragon Quest X, Dragon Quest XI, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, Blazblue, Skylanders: Imaginators, Nobunaga's Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII.

20 publishers sounds like a lot until you realize that indies can self-publish, too. I'd be more assured if they were Japanese, though.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

I'm fine with the indies thing. This gen I've found that I've been most impressed with Nintendo's own software and various indie titles. So something that combines the first-party efforts of WiiU and 3DS with the indie support of PS4 and PSV sounds pretty darn appealing to me.

That is great to hear. Can't wait to see all those titles unveiled.

So there are 20 new publishers on board? Nice

And they brought only one game each.
