Forums - Politics - Breaking: Trump withdraws US from TPP

https://www.rt.com/usa/374819-trump-orders-tpp-repeal/

Very interesting article. I wonder what will happen to the prices of us products, value of currencies, companies with Asian factories, etc.

This'll either bring benefits or disaster. I'm sure there are people smart enough to analyze this. As for me, can't really have an opinion as I don't know a lot about TPP (besides its significance).

Don't really think it'll impact much TPP was dead in the water a long time ago, even Clinton pulled support for it.

The main thing that is likely is China will likely make their own version of it now and take control of trade (moreso) in that region.

Surely China didn't partake but they also abandon Japan and Australia. The European union should for once take  there head out of therw ass and see this as an opportunity to become part of this group and revive it.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Free trade is good but difficult for the masses to understand.

Free trade with high quality standards for the products. The US can keep there chlorinated chickens.

Means nothing since it hasn't been ratified yet ...

As far as the future is concerned it's probably a good move for the US since they get wrecked with deficits in a lot of trade deals ...

Really?  Of all the things to complain about, chicken washed with a chorine solution is at the top?  Why?

a good movie imo.

If I had to guess this will come back in a few years under another name. TPP became highly politicized in 2016, but with the money at stake those behind it won't give up on this idea.

The administration will most likely try to implement an alternative to TPP in order to claim that they got rid of it while they still implement something similar.
