That would be totally acceptable if the console wasnt launching in SIX WEEKS!

Ya it seems odd that they still have so many unanswered questions this close to launch, I thought thats what the presentation and subsequent interviews & hands on impressions were for.

I hope they do a pre-launch Nintendo Direct or something that clears alot of this up and shows some of their post-launch titles in more detail with launch dates for Spring titles.

I'm not sure if people realize that as of right now, we don't know if voice chat is going to be possible at launch. How on earth is that acceptable? That information has to be known at the very least. Nintendo has to come out with more information about this console and it has to happen very soon.

I have the feeling they have heard the criticism of what's been shown of their subscription system and they are scrambling to get something better ASAP, and that's why they're being vague about it. At least I hope so.

That's completely wrong.

Their original announcement was that they will detail their upcoming online services at a later date. The answers to Kotaku are in line with that. Nintendo isn't going to make their announcement through Kotaku.

Exactly, Nintendo will reveal everything on a later date, why reveal everything to a crappy online magazine??

34 years playing games.

Well, if they said that they will only comment more about online and VC in the future, kotaku really should have seen those answers comming.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Nintendo spent too much time watching the Benghazi and Trump cabinet confirmation proceedings.

Nintendo really is very odd.

"Sir? Publications want a lot of answers concerning the Switch."
"Eeeeh? I don't know. I haven't thought about that stuff. Show them the ice cube thing!"
"But consumers have questions about the online--"
"Hey! Let's go see Mimi-chan at the hostess club! Are you too good to drink with your senpai?"
"..."

I think it goes something like that.

It's fine, I guess, as long as they do some kind of secondary "reveal" well before launch but I don't understand the line of thought with holding so much back. First impressions are important.

Some things i will give them credit for though is they have seemed to demonstrate the value of the hybrid concept much better than they did for the Wii U Gamepad and its asymmetrical gameplay or 3DS and its glassless free 3D along with providing a much better stream of 1st party software in the first 9 months compared to 3DS/Wii U (assuming a bunch of delays dont happen).

But i agree that they are doing a very poor job of communicating the value of their various services.

If they would've have nothing to offer in this regard, the answer would look like Netflix and stuff. But they say they have nothing to announce. This more says to me they keep features regarding Online/Virtual Console and so on under covers to reveal at a later point.

That would be totally acceptable if the console wasnt launching in SIX WEEKS!

Hehehe: I just uncovered Nintendos masterplan: just drive everyone nuts by withholding information, and then - profit. (^_^)

FTFY

I don't want to click on a Kotaku article. I don't recall them having a great reputation.

My only questions as someone really interested in buying a Switch soon is: Can it play games? Does it have a browser?

Still being secretive about this or they actually have nothing planned for 3ds/wii u connection and vc things

I really hope there are achievements..
