The problem isn't so much the difference such as motion controls etc. but the horse power difference.

In an ideal world horse power shouldn't matter, but when the competition's console is so much more powerful it makes it hard to port anything over. The switch needed to be at least xbox one original in power to have any chance of getting ports. if it was at that level no one would be complaining.

If a handheld that's. 5 inches thick had the power of an XB1, it'd cost an insane amount, much more than  $300. You'd then see people complain, saying they should've made it weaker to reduce the price.

 You can't satisfy everyone.

Nintendo are pushing it as a home consol though. It should have had additional power in the dock so when docked it could run like a home console.

It's not that people don't want innovation. It just has to serve some purpose, as innovation for its own sake is pointless and more often than not ends up as a gimmick and nothing else. If you do create something new and innovative for a video game, it has to somehow make the game better as a result. Otherwise it's just creating something new for the sake of being able to say that you did so. "Innovative new control method" sounds nice on the back of the box, but that doesn't guarantee its actually better than just using a normal controller.

What i want is the day that increased power is no longer using that power increase to playing catch up to the next HD increase and that extra power can give us open worlds without having to reuse assets and where npc's aren't clones, that along with no pop up will be a good start.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

How would that work? Would it be like the thunderbolt graphic "banks" that cost a fortune?

Interesting fact is that Microsoft had a concept like this. They wanted to make it possible to easily make your PC stronger whenever you desire.

The only problem with this tech is I don't think we can do it yet without making it expensive.
