Forums - Nintendo - Mario Kart 8 has no new tracks? Seemingly Confirmed by Japanese Presentation

I hope they fixed the fire hopping glitch from the original

This seems okay to me, after all, it is an enhanced port, not a new game.

Bigger question is if and when will there be a new MK9 for the Switch?

The addition of battle modes is a huge plus, since the Switch will already include tracks from both DLC packs

So that's where the battle mode dlc went

It has the battle mode I've been asking for since 2008, so whatever!

This pretty much confirms MK9 is currently in the works.

wasn't there a new Yoshi shaped track?

have I played that on the Wii U version?

If you paid the DLCs, you played it.

Disappointing. Oh well, its still a great game for people who haven't played/owned it yet.
Although I feel like Mario Kart 8 sold well enough to warrant more content.

1doesnotsimply

Wii-U version and..
+ the extra dlc
+ new characters
+new battle mode maps
+ be able to have 2 items at the same time
+ local wireless multiplayer with up to 8 players
+1080p
+can play it on handheld

Yeah for me this is totally worth buying again.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)
