Yeah the only difference is that on Switch it runs Deluxe at 1080p 60fps at all times!

The guys on Tree house live stated this same thing, which is why I believe this gives us a better clue of just how capable this device is over the WiiU. If it's capable of rendering 4 separate images all at 1080p 60fps, then it's theoretical power should be at least that while docked.

Something people have been overlooking with BoTW Switch versus WiiU is just how dense the grass alone is on the Switch version.

No. The Switch version runs at 30fps when in 3-4 players split screen, just like the Wii U version.

Okay thanks for that, my misunderstanding from watching what they said on Tree House...

I don't think I'll be getting the Switch unless theres more details about the hardware being around the Xbox One or PS4 level.

I LOVED the Switch presentation and I HOPE The Switch is powerful enough to gain 3rd Party Support... but if we're seeing an not so powerful console that won't last long then count me out.  What they did with the Wii U is a HUGE turn off. I was buying ALL 3rd party games for the Wii U until it wasn't powerful enough to run them anymore. I didn't want no PS4 because the Wii U had all in one! But I wanted games like Black ops 3, GTA V, Project Cars and everything else. but nope. Then I bought a PS4 to enjoy those 3rd party games and exclusives too.

If the Wii U was more powerful, I probably wouldn't have bought a PS4 until 2015. I can't leave PS4 now, I got friends, data, games I got for it... AND I'M LOVING IT! Since I have a 4k screen, I'm more likely on buying the PS4 Pro over the Switch this year.

I'm not a graphics person, I'm content person... so why do I care about how powerful the Switch is: I'm worried about the Switch being relevant for about a year or 2... and it'll be weak as a smartphone by the year 2020 while the PS5 and XB2 comes out when every games runs 4K gaming.... pretty much Wii U 2.0

Like yeah I'll enjoy Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Arms, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and others.. but the Switch will stilll be Wii U 2.0 if it's not powerful enough.....

I wish all the best for the Switch and if I find out if it's powerful enough ATLEAST around Xbox one level... I'll buy the Switch within a heartbeat!

just look the Super Mario Odyssey ? Wii U cant run this game ?  Onother reason its Switch have Unreal Engine 4  ?  I thing  the  switch will run xbox one game ?

I have no objective explanation to why I wanted the Switch to be at least 50% of a Xbone, but that was my personal limit on whether to buy one or not (during launch window, because I might buy one after price drops).

Still, I think both Zelda and the new Mario world look fabulous and I would very much want to experience them. The power of the Switch is very much enuff for traditional Nintendo cartoon style graphics.

Well I loved the content on the 3DS and it was 240p so the Switch seems like good successor for me.

So no "1-2 Switch is too hard" thread for us?

Looks like someone is not buying the Switch.

It's just a little over twice as powerful at Wii U. It's not XBO level but XBO isn't a 1 inch thick portable device either.

Docked.  Undocked, which is the appeal of the device, it's just slightly better than a Wii U.  Even when docked, I doubt devs are going to do much with the extra power other than a higher res and/or more stable framerate.  Again, that's nice for a HH, but not for something replacing the Wii U.  It also means that once PS3/360 support is dropped completely and if the Switch isn't selling well, there goes most of its 3rd party support.

Rumors say about 400 Gflops when docked.

Playstation 4 is 1.84 Tflops.

So its like around 1/4th of a PS4, and about 1/3rd of a Xbox One.

Guess your not buying it then.

Dock soesn't have any chips to make it more powerful. All the guts are in the tablet.

Most developers don't need nearly as much potential power that the Xbox One or PS4 are capable of using. The Switch while not as graphically sharp can still compete in most other aspects. That being said, Nintendo building the system hopefully built around that knowledge and made it easy enough to port as well as should have took the steps to make it strong enough to handle the things that will sell it.

Time will tell, sadly the Switch presentation while it showed somethings still leaves a lot of important issues in the dark for fans as to what they are getting with the device and its services.
