Yep. I got mine down right after the preview. The preorder didn't require money down then, but any new preorder now does require money. So i got in first and good .

Looks like Nintendo are being sensible about expectations after the wii u situation so if the launch isn't huge not much chance of a price drop which is all the more reason to pre-order. If it's a huge seller they will ramp up production.

If it really is portable, home and VR I really can see it being huge to be honest. So I can see a stock drought existing. However that said I will probably wait I've still got so many other games to play and will probably go with the first reasonable offer I see. Maybe an Easter promotion.

Welp, I got my pre-order, all good. Also got a PS4 at launch with no problems whatsoever. It's really not that hard. Just pre-order early.

I'm lazy and am loyal to my Prime benefits and CC benefits for buying from Amazon, so I'm just going to toss in an Amazon pre-order if I can when pre-orders open up after the Switch event. If I can't, no biggie. The Switch has my curiosity, and if the $250 pricepoint is true, I have no issue hopping in whenever. That said, I don't need a day one unit if it means having to go out of my way to pre-order at a brick & mortar establishment or something.

Guessing pre orders don't open up in the US until after the Switch event? I'm not too worried, if I can't get one on launch then I'll gladly wait.

It's never been hard to get a preorder even for the most popular ones until very close to release date.
