Yeah, but are they still releasing games?

Yeah, their newer titles don't have that many downloads, but they're spin-offs so that's pretty much expected. It's always hard to tell how well a mobile developer is doing without figures as games can still be making them substantial money that released ages ago.

http://fortune.com/2015/08/27/rovio-layoffs/ Bad financial statements as well, 2016 might have been slightly better for them, but gaming wise, they have declined insanely.

Yes! Everyone knows Android users are more likely to pay for apps. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I paid for all my apps so far, so it must be true. I'm still on the fence though if I should buy it. I mean it will only increase the chance of your prediction coming true and I really don't want that to happen.

That face got me.

But hey, I've paid the full asking price for every app I have from Google Play!

They were all free of course but still, I didn't feel the need to pirate any of them nor pay and considering that if a game did try to stop after the 3rd stage and ask me for money it's incredibly easy to remove apps using android and install some of the many other games which do not.

Can't recommend "King Oddball" enough on Android, completely free title, really simple, perfect for loo trips. I should see if I can become a shill for King Oddball heh.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

probably would have been better off just making it like a 5$ app that you HAVE to pay for rather than a free app that you pay later on to unlock half the game. The problem is too many people interested in mobile gaming (especially kids) are not going to either be capable or able to buy a 10$ mobile game on their own. Can you imagine a kid asking their parent "hey mom, can you buy this 10$ app?" its probably like an auto no because that seems like a lot when compared to the average phone app (granted that may not be the case in the end with how many in game purchases end up popping up on most mobile apps)

many have it right though. Nintendo's mobile app offerings are simply for advertising for their main console stuff anyway.

If they wanted to kill it in mobile they'd be releasing like the original Mario Bros games on the NES in the APP store (that would do vastly better than Mario Run) but they won't do that because they want to retain their virtual console (only available via their home system)

You can play the first Mario and many other Mario games on phones and PC's at a higher resolution for free.

And NES is very easy to emulate even on weak hardware.

I wonder if selling individual worlds at smaller increments would have netted with more purchases

Yeah, and technically I can eat at any restaurant for free too. I just leave when the bill arrives.

Please don't support piracy.
