Would it really be that bad though? I mean how many people who aren`t Wii U owners would really care? Besides, I expect the majority of Wii U owners would be hardcore enough of Nintendo fans that not only would they likely get a Switch pretty early anyway but they`d be willing to forgive Nintendo even if they don`t (providing the game is good of course).

Let's be honest, they'd forgive Ninty even if the game was a turd.

Ninty fans didn't seem very forgiving with respect to Federation Force or Color Splash.

At this point, the chances of BotW releasing on Wii U are about the same as Uwe Boll winning an Oscar.

They've fed their paying customers bald-faced lies about this game for years, and now they're going to hold it hostage behind a $300 paywall.

I for one will never purchase another Nintendo product again.

Twilight Princess saw release on both GameCube and Wii.

I'm willing to take a bet on this if anyone feels otherwise.

I'll take that bet.

I will bet you a permanet ban whoever loses can never use their acount again.  So if Breath of the wild comes out on the Wii U you can never post again and the same would go for me if it dosen't come out.  But of couse you wouldn't do that because you probably don't realy belive it. Now lets see if somone can get a moderator to do that and I am sure someone else would be willing to do this bet if you won't acept it from me because it is that ridiculus.

Yeah, but Starfox 2 was cancelled for SNES, Dinosaur Planet was cancelled for N64, Super Paper Mario was cancelled for Gamecube, and Pikmin 3 was cancelled for Wii.

I'm about 90% confident it won't, so while I will not bet a permaban, I am willing to bet a month's ban.

Did any of those games get as much coverage as BotW did for the WiiU?

Fine by me lets see if people will stack on top of me to see how many months you are cofident by, but if you only want to do 1 month total someone else can replace me because it is not realy fair for you because I don't comment much.

No, but that doesn't mean BotW won't be.

Well, I don't think it's the coverage that indicates it will be. For me the evidence is Nintendo distancing themselves from the Wii U as much as possible, that they're clearly having difficulties getting it to run smoothly on Wii U, and that they'll want to sell more Switches and use Zelda as leverage to force U owners to upgrade.

I don't think the performance issues we have seen are enough to axe potentially millions of sales from releasing on two platforms versus on just one. Also, there is potential for sales from selling to double dippers.

BotW got a huge reception at E3, it saw several hours of play on the WiiU, and even gave chance for the public to play despite the WiiU's difficulties.

Of course, there is still a chance the WiiU version get cancelled but I'm seeing financial motivation to release on two platforms instead of just one. Two is greater than one after all.

I don't think the performance issues are worth axing it either, but I have no faith in Nintendo agreeing with us, since it will give them a handy excuse to try to force Wii U owners to get a Switch.
