The same younger generation that gave us Splatoon, one of Nintendo's most smashing successes as of late? I'm definitely all for it.

Don't forget the mighty Paper Maro: Sticker Star, the game every PM fan wanted.
I love Miyamoto and think Japan should put his face on Mt. Fuji, but he ain't what he used to be. I hope this is a sign that Nintendo is greenlighting more ideas and projects as a whole.
While I'm more than happy that new blood are taking the reigns of the console and software divisions, I don't want to undermine what Miyamoto and his long time partners are doing nowadays. Sure not everything was a hit (and why is someone pointing out Nintendo Land as something of mediocrity when it was well received?) but he did help provide feedback to the young devs of Splatoon, encouraged multiplayer for Luigi's Mansion 2, and has been a mentor for the devs and is willing to give them the reigns. As I've said before, he's still has a lot to give and now he's more focused on smaller game projects and projects outside of video games such as mobile and the theme parks.
If what this means is that some youngblood can step in and say "NO! No, James Bond can't apologize to all the people he shot in the face. They are not in the hospital. Most of them didn't even have a proper burial.", I'm good. ;) He's still the best tho. :)
- "If you have the heart of a true winner, you can always get more pissed off than some other asshole."
Sounds like this could be promising. Perhaps having the new younger generation can lead to some new and interesting IPs, like we saw with Splatoon. That would be great.

All jokes aside, 50 year olds were 10 when the Atari 2600 came out - Shiggy was already at Nintendo.
Every little bit is progress. Getting a few people who grew up with the NES and SNES some bargaining chips within the company should help bring them back in the direction of much of their lost fanbase (who also happen to be about the same age). According to the demographics, the average gamer is in their thirties - forget what the kids/teenagers want.

Well Miyamoto gave us Pikmin 3 also, best Pikmin so far and one of best Wii Us game, so you cant really say everything Miyamoto done is bad, he can still make very good game, but this time he is not person that will be asked about every project and decision and that's good thing because younger Nintendo staff has new ideas and different perspective.

Is it too much to hope that every Switch comes with a little note apologizing for Star Fox Zero now?

Good news, it was about damn time this happened!
