I love Miyamoto and think Japan should put his face on Mt. Fuji, but he ain't what he used to be. I hope this is a sign that Nintendo is greenlighting more ideas and projects as a whole.

Well Miyamoto gave us Pikmin 3 also, best Pikmin so far and one of best Wii Us game, so you cant really say everything Miyamoto done is bad, he can still make very good game, but this time he is not person that will be asked about every project and decision and that's good thing because younger Nintendo staff has new ideas and different perspective.
