So what? Its still a official 2016 released game.

And its not just a port either - there's additional features to the gameplay that the original did not have so in a sense it can be considered somewhat of a remaster. Its not just a regular port like you would expect from a PS2 to PS4 PSN title that only adds higher visuals or achievements/trophies.

Even then, I wouldn't count remasters as they're not really new games.

Well, I've only gotten 4 games so far from this year: Uncharted 4, Street Fighter V, Twilight Princess HD and Final Fantasy XV. I've also played Doom at my uncle's house, but that's it. I've mainly played pre-2016 games.

I'll be holding off until I've beaten FFXV and played through The Last Guardian.

I would also like to add that it would be a good idea to extend the voting to January 7th. This would give everyone a full week to take in everything from 2016 and come up with proper votes, rather than getting a bunch of last minute entries while everyone tries to celebrate the new year.
