Depends on West. Pokemon has been on the rise here. I was hoping in japan too but it depends on how its legs are there.

Usually later entries have more frontloaded sales. But the situation might be difficult with Switch coming soon. Maybe some expect a Switch version of the game.

GTA V sold among all versions around 1,5 mil in Japan. So, Pokemon easily tops that. But this is Japan, Pokemon is stronger and GTA weaker over there, I would have been surprised if GTA would beat Pokemon in Japan. Overall it might be impossible to beat GTA on all platforms, but maybe GTA V on PS3 (the best platform) might be doable. What specifics were the people giving who said that?

I remember reading that when PGO came out XY and 3ds saw a slight increase in sales. I imagine if they add an update to PGO that maybe adds gen2 we could see SM see a boost as well, but over all 1.9m? Thats great! :D

Pokemon Go did well on Japan, I think that the game had 10 millions or + players.

Mario 3D will easily shift the initial 2m shipment, Zelda will easily keep that momentum going and Pokemon in Autum can ensure the biggest holiday sales Nintendo have seen since the Wii. Did they already confirmed Pokemon for the Switch ? That will be very nice.
I think that they should ship more units, even with a March launch they should have 4-5 millions of worldwide stock. Maybe it is a part of the deal and Nvidia won't make much more units before a successful launch.
