Forums - Sales Discussion - Pokemon Sun/Moon sells 1,905,107 units in Japan FW

If Nintendo doesn't launch the Switch with Pokemon, they would be really dumb. Amazing how this still sells after all these years.

There are only so many Switch units which can be sold in the first few weeks/months. Mario 3D will easily shift the initial 2m shipment, Zelda will easily keep that momentum going and Pokemon in Autum can ensure the biggest holiday sales Nintendo have seen since the Wii. Nintendo ought to leave some leg room for third party software to sell.

Most importantly though, Nintendo are not just porting Sun/Moon, they're remaking it with all new assets. As a fan, I don't want them to rush out the first console ready mainline Pokemon title.

Huge numbers as usual.

Is that good? Bad? What did previous Pokemon games do?

Not best sales, but very good.

great numbers

Switch!!!

Impressive numbers.

And the game seems to be good.

Without the digital sales numbers, there´s no way to evaluate how successfull this launch is compared to previous Pokemon games.
Still, 1,9 million is a huge number for Japanese market standards.

Pokémon Sun/Moon became Japan's #1-selling game in 2016 in its first week alone.

and i dont think anything will come close

Yokai Watch 3 is around 1.3mil. So yeah!

Pocky Lover Boy!

People were saying this would sell more than GTA V at launch and it's entire lifetime sales. That's ridiculous
