Definitely is more than 10% less difficult than porting for Wii U, ARM+Nvidia is very modern architecture and tech that is very familiar and easy to work with.

No one said that will solve 3rd party problems, but definitely that is positive thing regardless 3rd party.

I really don't understand tone..

It's certainly very familiar and easy for people who develop mobile games for a living.

Today ARM architecture is most used CPU architecture on market and almost every developer is familiar with ARM, Nvidia is most used GPU architecture on PC market and most of PS4/XB1 multiplatform games are available for PC also.

"Could" is the point. You "could" also point many games to last gen systems. Everything is possible but the question is how much work is involved.

Of Course, but fact is that modern Switch hardware and tech makes things easier compared to Wii or Wii U for instance.

"easier" is not easy. Don't expect many ports. I tell you, don't. I know now is the time where hope rules, it always before a console launch, and NVidia is not helping here either, but from a technical point of view, there is no magic involved.

The funniest thing here is that Nvidia has been talking crap about consoles since the gen started, simply because AMD got all contracts to make theirs GPUs. They were outdated, useless, etc. Now that they have one console in their hands, it suddenly is a technical achievement, a masterpiece of design and a proof of how far humanity has evolved.

However, it is an ingenuous design and porting current gen titles to it won't be much of an issue since it's basically a toned down Maxwell or Pascal GPU.

Let's wait and see. I don't believe them until I see it with my own eyes.

That is simply natural. The question is how far behind you have to drag down a game tech wise untill it starts resembling something entirely else. Case in point, Dead Rising was ported to the Wii and it was pure trash. Hopefully the NS will not plagued by quite as a large power difference.

Wow..... really?

Let me tell you what you just said. You just said that because planes are so common nowadays that almost all car drivers know how to fly a plane. And after that bombshell you claim that Nvidia in Tegra is the same as Nvidia in PCs.

Why can't you just accept that, as many people in this thread have already pointed out, what Huang says here is marketing blubber disconnected from reality.

It's still gonna be a significant effort to port for Switch and architecture is just the first of three hurdles developers have to overcome.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Xbox and PS CPU's are the weak part, dread to think what it will be like on a tegra.

Its probably easier to port too than the Wii U was.
Hopefully it means more 3rd party support.

I think the problem isn't porting games to Switch, but the lack of an audience to buy said games

Some people think that those people will come running once there is a sufficient amount of 3rd party games on the console.
