If you haven't played the Metroid Prime games, you should, ASAP. ;)

Will do when I get the chance. :)

If you have a Wii U, the Trilogy is available on Eshop.

Fire Emblem (favorite franchise ever) but other than that Xenoblade.

Personally, I'm gonna go with Xenoblade.
The first was one of the best games of last gen, and while the second isn't quite as great, it's still a remarkable achievement.

true. Xenoblade Chronicles is really one of the best.  I hope we can have a remaster and additional campaign/story mode in Nintendo Switch.

Or better yet, a new third entry in the series.

Star Fox, but I find it appalling we have been relegated to the B tier...

Which tier would you put them in?

It's hard to put Metroid in A-Tier without realizing that the series itself hasn't sold well compared to the likes of Donkey Kong, Mario, Pokemon, Smash Bros., Mario Kart, or even Zelda. Even Animal Crossing has sold really well compared to Metroid (Wild World has sold about 2/3 of what Metroid as a series has sold). Yes, Metroid is critically acclaimed as a series, but sales, unfortunately, don't add up to the acclaim. And you kinda wonder why Nintendo hasn't made a lot of these games over the course of the series' lifetime (it took eight years between Super and Metroid Prime and Fusion).

Fire Emblem may be hovering around B-tier as of now due to recent success, though may originally be considered a C-tier franchise due to low sales (though it didn't come overseas until the 7th game). And even then, Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance weren't able to match the sales of Blazing Sword and the series was in jeopardy until Awakening and Fates sold really well.

Xenoblade is still relatively young and both games just miss the mark of a million as of now. Still, in terms of staying power and appeal, they may have some momentum as a series due to Shulk being in Smash, the original game being released on New 3DS, and there is a solid fanbase for this series that has potential to grow if Switch (or any other console in the future) could build that user base (it was kinda too late for Xenoblade Chronicles due to a variety of reasons, including being late into the Wii's life and being Game Stop exclusive in NA).
