Forums - Nintendo - solid rumor: Nintendo Switch will be using Tegra X2

Pascal in Notebooks is crazy fast while still using relatively small amounts of energy. I have no doubt at all that nVidia can also do wonders on a tablet. They're running circles around AMD right now, a lot of people will be impressed by what the Switch can do (but very few will admit it =P)

Depends on what your expectations are.

If you're expecting some on par with the PS4/XB1, you're going to be dissapointed. If you're expecting the best mobile graphics by probably a good margin for a while, you will be impressed.

It's 1.5 TFlops in 16 bit half floating point mode. It's 750gflops in 32 bit full floating point mode. The latter is used for gaming. So please don't use double values by augmentation to make it look like it's closer to the Xone or PS4. It isn't those consoles can use the same tricks and can use more RAM for higher res textures. PS4 and Xone can also use 16 bit data for some tasks it is rarely if at all used outside exclusive and very demanding games anyway. So yeah with augmentation the SWITCH has 1 TFLOP the Xone 1.60 and the PS4 2.1TF it's still lacking in power by a good margin especially compared to the regular PS4.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

This is not a rumour, just speculation on what is likely.

This! When you google translate the source article, you can see that they don't have inside information whatsoever and that they are just speculating like the rest: http://www.4gamer.net/games/990/G999026/20161021062/

what is tegla x2 ? does it matter? does it automaticaly make good games?

Sounds like the dude is just speculating. So nothing that solid here.

1 TF home mode and 750 GF handheld would be pretty good.

Px2 plateform use 2 tegra X 2 and 2 gpu mxm... So Switch could have tegra X2 in handheld and a gpu in dock... Just need a physical connexion between them..
So on go Switch has 750 GFLOPS and at home on the dock has 1.5 TFLOPS or more... A system like ps4/ ps4p...

Son when they say evolve, they mean like an expansion pack?

No, they mean the Nintendo Switch Pro with a Tegra X3. Hopefully to be released not later than 2 years after launch.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

There are no indications that the home dock will have an additional GPU!

It would invite technical problems (especially while switching between handheld and docking mode with running games) and it would pile up additional costs for 2 GPU solutions. How much do you think the Switch will cost?

From this "rumour" and Emily's "Switch has 4GB RAM", what can we actually see as games? Close to XB1 or not that close?
