Forums - Nintendo - If Mario Kart 8 Switch is an enhanced port, how much new content do you want?

As someone who isn't interested in MK8, new maps and maybe one or two new characters (that aren't third party or guest characters) could help me gain more attention.

I loved Dragon Driftway and Ice Ice Outpost, which were added as DLC.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Expanded roster and at least two more cups.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Depends on the pricing of this game compared to normal Switch games..

But I like the additions so far.. new characters and double items like in Double Dash.

Hope to see fixes in the battle mode, most importantly

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

If it's a MK8 port it better be $40 tops. Would take a whole lot of new content to make a $60 price tag justifiable.

I would buy the game for $40 with maybe 2 new cups.  I don't care about any of the other possible additons.  I just want tracks.

If its $60, it's going to be difficult for me to justify the purchase without 16 or more new tracks.

All of those remaster/ports better not sell for more than $40. Anything more would probably be met with backlash.

I don't buy the same game twice. Since I already own it for Wii U, along with all it's DLC... I will not buy it again. I want a brand new MK for Switch. Preferably with arenas for battle mode this time!

A decent battle mode..... Pretty please, Nintendo?

To justify a full 60$ purchase, it would have to provide content that is about 20$ - 25$ worth imo.
A straight port of MK8 would be ok at a price of 30$ - 35$ with all DLC included.
Add to that 15$ worth of new tracks (that would technically be 18,5 new tracks, I propose Nintendo throw in the missing 1,5 to make it 20 for free to really entice people to double dip for great value).
5$ worth of actual Battlemode maps (Wich should give about 10 imo)
And 5$ worth of new charcters and game modes (So 5 new characters and double dash mode)

I think that's fair.
To expect 8 new cups is a bit much imo. That's what MK8 launched with at a 60$ price. At that point you're basically expecting them to give you the port/enhancement work as well as all of MK8s content entirely for free.

All of the DLC plus a new battle mode. But I haven't played MK8 yet, so it would still feel like a new game regardless they add that or not.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

What do "Game of the Year Editions" from other games contain? It's only fair to expect a similar amount of extra content. Asking a full game's worth of extra tracks (16 or more) is unrealistic, why not make a MK9 instead then?

Besides the base game, it would add all DLC, two new Cups, two new characters, 6 new vehicles (two per type related to the new characters and tracks) and maybe a real Battle mode.
