The 1st one may or may not happen, but Ninten never was known to play movies and blue ray, and do you really expect the Switch to play Wii U titles now, with its change to carts..? |
I don't expect the Switch to have to play BC games but I also don't expect the ps4 either given how different the ps3 architecture was.
Playstation was known to play blu ray and the Pro still is. UHD is super niche and will never take off. The point is it's funny people try using one thing to shit on one company but completely ignore it for others.

Have you seen the Switch screen? Games would be stretched to hell and back. |
They dont have to use the entire screen... lets be honest froma technical perspective its doable, no reason to find excuses for it. Its obvious that Nintendo still expects to pull profits from selling 3DS systems and games. Backward compatibility is being dropped from all consoles just to push older systems more, and speed up software purchase rates early in the lifecycle.

It's already tiresome hearing people complaining about almost everything when it comes to nintendo: too kiddy, too weak, milking franchises, not ambitious... Now that? Please

Why would it have a touch screen if the screen is docked during home play though? That would essentially mean the feature is never used by any game at all, I think it's a given it doesn't have a touchscreen. |
Because it's not absurd to think that it also has functionality as a tablet and unique functions as a handheld. Emily Rodgers who turned out to be right regarding the NX said it has a touch screen, the WSJ who backed her and Eurogamer claims that it will support Nintendo's mobile games. It seems bizarre that they literally have a tablet but limit it to a gaming device to save $5.
The fact they didn't show any touch screen functionality is definitely worthy of suspicion but this was just a teaser and Nintendo are obviously concerned with making it known they are not leaving the core gaming space. (literally why they announced NX in 2015).
That was a given.
For now there was too much Functions on the Switch that feels like it would be hard to implement BC.
And how it feels like there will be an enhance version of MK8 and Splatoon.

Resisting urge to derail, resisting urge to derail, resisting urge to derail.
Not surprising, change in architecture and change in media. Not a big deal for me I didn't have a Wii or Wii U but considering buying this.

Yeah Nintendo definitely get a lot of unjust hate. It's just a different type of thing they get hated for.
