But who'd want to play that anywhere? There are very specific situations where you'd play this. When you're playing on the go, you're just looking at wasting time. In those situations phones/tablets are are better because while the experience might not be as good, they can do more and are more portable.

idk thats like asking why would anybody want to play a Gameboy, Nintendo DS, Playstation Portable on the go.

More like who'd want to play a Gameboy, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable on the go in 2017, a year where everyone has a smartphone.

the market for such devices has certainly declined, im not going to deny that but its still a viable market that can be very profitable since its basically one company that completely owns it.

Portable consoles will have sold roughly 80 million this generation with a pretty even balance between regions.

going by this sites numbers, they have sold 13.7 million in 2011, 17.8 million in 2012, 17.6 million in 2013, 12.6 million in 2014, 10.0 million in 2015 for an average of about 14 million per year.

Clearly there are people who still like playing on the go.

This handheld generation started close to 6 years ago. There's 3 times more smartphone buyers per year now that in 2011. The average handheld sales for the 3DS has declined every year since 2012 and overall handheld shipments have averaged less than 8M per year in the past 2 years. The only reason the 3DS sold so many is because of repeat buyers of the different revisions and the very low prices.

I'm not saying there's absolutely no market. There is but it's a very small one.

It doesn't look like it has any USB for the Gamecube Adapter, and also I do think it will fail, I just don't see the improvement yet. We need all the info about what is inside that tablet!

I thought with a Vita you can play your ps4 games outside?

Since when are you able to play uncharted 4 on the Vita outside your home?

There is 2 ways of doing it, you can either have the 3g model of the Vita and setup your PS4 for remote play or if you're in Ireland and you have 3 you can set your phone as a personal hotspot to hook the vita to and play it like that from anywhere as long as you have your PS4 left in rest mode when you left the house.

Can't be Wii U level in terms of power because the persion was playing Skyrim Remastered so the console has to be minimum around X1 level for that due to the new textures in the game and all.

Skyrim on the XBO isn't pushing the console to its limits though.

Keep in mind that ports will be scaled to the hardware to run them... and also that

Exists, so it isn't like there have been machines weaker than the Wii-U running a version of Skyrim and yeah Bethesda have stated that they aren't saying for sure yet which games are heading to the system, just that there is support on the way for it. But yeah, Skyrim runs "fine" on a console from 2005, a 2017 handheld should do a fine job of it.

I like almost everything with this, I was hoping that PS4-like performance would NOT be their goal, but instead having a low price point. Hopefully that turns out to be true. This is in many ways a dream come true in terms of consoles for me, having it ultra-portable while still being able to use it at home as a standard home console.

There are two things I am skeptical about though. I don't like that the d-pad consists of separate buttons. It's useless for fighters/shoot-em-ups and just feels strange. Also I really, really like the concept of detachable separate mini-controllers, but I would hope that they hade shoulder buttons on the inside (the part that attach to the Switch) to give you six buttons to work with. If that would be the case, it can be used for most games out there except fps games of course.

Hi. Sony fan here.

I'm super excited about the prospect of this system.

Why though? I simply cannot find where I can use this system.

Literally anywhere you want? It's a handheld. And a home console. If you can't figure out where you would use it, that's on you.

If a gamer like me cannot figure out where to use it, what would the more mainstream gamers think of it? Casuals obviously aren't going to buy it.
