Yes, Nintendo fans. If you look at it rationally, other than being a fan of the Nintendo IPs, gamers have no real reason to get this over a PS4 or X1.

No gamers, rationally many people saw a cool looking home console device that gives home console experience in and out the house, given your history you would try and say only Nintendo fans though.

Many gamers also said "Cool device but I've already got 1 or 2 consoles with better 3rd party.". They also said "I don't play games outside of the house" or "I've already got a tablet".

I don't think it'll be some huge hit with the PS4/XB1 crowds (the design is I think point in fact specifically the way it is so Nintendo does not have to compete directly with Sony or MS anymore) .... buuuuuuut I can see motivation for a PS4/X1 type gamer to buy this in some cases even if they don't like Nintendo games.

Being able to play some games like NBA2K or FIFA or Skyrim or Monster Hunter or Mortal Kombat or Calladooty on a plane/bus/subway ride is pretty cool.

And it actually looks pretty slick too, it doesn't look like a child's toy which Nintendo is sometimes guilty of, it looks like a Sony or Apple or (heh) Nvidia product. Not too shabby in that regard.

I'm getting NBA 2K for Switch for example, whereas I wouldn't buy it for Wii U because you might as well get it for PS4 in that case. But on Switch I can play it anywhere, which appeals to me.

I'll give you plane but bus or subway - people use their phones while on these now. If I'm commuting by public transport on short distances, I don't want to carry an additional device for a 10-20 minutes play.

Hi. Sony fan here.

I'm super excited about the prospect of this system.

I like that we'll have new Nintendo games and hopefully few software droughts.

I don't like the concept. The way it is, I would rather Nintendo make two systems: A portable version that docks (basically this), and one that just functions as a home console and is much cheaper, which is the one that I'd get. This hybrid idea is wasted on me personally.

Does the dock have an ethernet port? God I hate this hybrid thing so much.
I´d love a home focused sku with a pro controller without the screen and the joy thing.
Probably will never happen because they want to sell the gimmick and it sucks if they don´t because there really is no use for the handheld when it is on the dock. It would be completely possible.

That´s the only reason why I´ll wait on this thing. If down the line they announce a home focused sku I´d be pissed for having to buy that tablet that I´ll never use.

Like:

Sleek design

Zelda and new Mario looks amazing

Combined installed base means less droughts due to avoiding bifurcating development efforts

Actual smart hardware choices this time around

Seemingly good performance if the rumored specs are more or less correct

The fact that they finally showed the damn thing!!!

Dislike:

Tablet form factor, I'm really not feeling that this a smart move all in all

Seeming focus on the handheld bit, I have zero interest in handheld gaming, never much liked it

Controller schemes look kind of half-baked and not very ergonomic

Little to no news on multimedia capability and connectivity

Continued focus on local multiplayer means likely less focus on proper online, which is sorely needed

Honestly; I'm not loving it and I can't see this being a huge success in its current (and likely finalized) form.

3rd party games and PS4 power on the go?

innovative controller with motion controls. 2v2 battle with 2 systems and 4 controllers built in. pretty awesome for friends.

nintendo surprised me once again. great work. i'd love to have one of these in a couple years.

All that discussion about Skyrim and how well the Switch could run it and it's not even releasing on the system.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I like the concept. Don't like much else about it. I don't know enough to make a decision though.

I need specs to know whether this thing is going to deliver an experience that I'm willing to pay for.

If not detailed specs, then just what res/fps it can run games at and what the battery life is like. Does the dock have an ethernet port?

Most importantly though: will devs support it beyond the first year? I don't think I'll ever be an early adopter of a Nintendo machine again because of the uncertainty surrounding support.

Looks neat, but I doubt it will have any mass market appeal. It still does not make up for not releasing an exclusive Zelda on Wii U.
