A couple of things I noted:

-The tablet indeed has active cooling, you can see a fan vent on the upper side.
-The docking station is pretty large, I'm expecting a storage drive and/or some kind of processing unit (confirming the SCD patent).

Yeah this is essentially I think what they wanted the Wii U to be.

I remember Iwata saying they experimented with putting the chip inside the Wii U controller, but it simply wasn't feasible for 2011/12.

Now you have the Tegra chip, and stuff like that is easier.

In the video they remove the tablet during gameplay and continue playing seamlessly. That pretty blatantly shows the dock doesn't perform any rendering itself imo.

So, it seems that we will get an updated version of Mario Kart 8. King Boo is one of the new characters there.

And Skyrim is obviously the Special Edition (Remastered) one.
