Well reality is that most of XB1/PS4 games dont run at 1080p/60fps.

Yeah, that's why I think it'd be meaningful to talk about it in context of popular third party games like Mass Effect Andromeda or something. Not sure how much weight this would carry for Mario etc. Then again with it receiving a lot of Wii U ports (apparently), I guess this could be a marketing on those games to get Wii U owners to upgrade early

They could just said great Nintendo games at glorious 1080p with 60 frame per second. That would definitely have some wight if they said for new 3D Mario and Zelda BotW for instance.

For now just Smash Bros. 4 seems like somewhat possible Wii U port for NX, not lot of Wii U ports.

There is absolutely no way that a placeholder name would be in packaging.

How about the blurred pic of the console, do you think that would be there? j/k ;)

Sounds like it's for the store to see how big the packages will be so they know how much space it will take up on the shelf and storage?

Lets hope this stuff isn't true I still don't find any of the rumours exciting, Im really excited to use my 4k television, but streaming is build into the TV and I am very interested in VR.

On the handheld side, I would much rather see a much cheaper handheld with no hybrid option then this. Come on my beloved nintendo franchises, please have normal hardware I desire, its been a while :(

Im really hoping N knocks it out of the park but after all the rumours I am pretty sure they will for SOME people, sadly I am not one of them.

It shouldn't be there either.

Do you guys believe in backward compatibility?

My Wii U needs tech assistance, but i am not in a hurry right now. Since i am almost sure to buy NX in launch anyway, was thinking of not fixing it right now.

  • The areas of the packaging that would usually depict the hardware were blurred and redacted by Nintendo in attempt to keep it hidden.

 This actually sounds believable.

If I were you, I would repair the console, even if it's just because all the rumours point out to the NX using cartridges, and I don't know if the DVDs will work on it.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

If it's true that it will play carts, what's the point of having of adding more costs to NX?

What they can do is what MS is doing (probably Sony too?):  making titles available digitally.

Only through software emulation so it all depends on how strong the NX is. No way Nintendo would increase the cost of the system through having BC built into the hardware. The lack of Wii U games makes me think we're more likely to get a few ports each year instead of software emulation.
