Infamous 2 seems more demanding from a CPU point of view, but I still reckon NFS was nicer to look at, with higher quality assets and a more consistent level of polish. GTA 5 and NFS would be neck and neck if they ran at a similar framerate, and again GTA is more CPU-intensive, but in the end I just feel the framerate dips in GTA 5 take some of the shine off its otherwise very impressive graphics, making NFS the better looking visual package overall. |
I would say Infamous 2 had a consistent level of polish as well as more action happening. CPU and GPU together make a game look as good as it does, an open world with nothing in it can look amazing visually but I wouldn't say it makes the best use of hardware. NFS MW doesn't even look better than Infamous 2, it just looks more realistic while Infamous 2 looks like a comic and that's the art style of the game.

NFS has significantly better lighting and it still has a lot going on in its world; it may not have pedestrians, but it has NPC traffic, cop cars, and tons of destructible roadside detail like signs, bins, and letterboxes.
Dragon Age: Inquisition!
I was imrpessed to see that the older versions hold up pretty well when compared to current gen version.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Infamous 2 has a lot of pedestrians, traffic and a lot more destructible objects that produce smoke and fire effects when they are destroyed. These destructible objects are sometimes as large as entire buildings. That's more impressive than destructible road signs.
You can also pick up and throw objects like cars and trucks. There are also tons of enemies in the game and the game still performs well.

A lot more than just raod signs can be smashed in NFS; fences, other cars, rubbish bins, etc.
NFS is just overall more polished and consistent to me. Infamous 2 generally looks good but it has some real rough spots:

All open world games have certain areas that don't have high quality textures. NFS MW probably has some areas as well. Infamous 2 also allows you to explore the city vertically as well as on the roads while in NFS MW the roofs and many other areas that cannot be accessed and seen closely don't need textures atleast high resolution textures.
Infamous 2 looked great. Given the scale of it, the consistently smooth gameplay, and amount of things that could be going on at a time without a drop in frames (tornado ftw), it's one of the more impressive technical feats I've seen on the console. It just looks great in motion.

NFS does have some verticality in the form of sections where you can jump up to building rooftops, drive to the top of a multi-storey car park or on raised highways, terrain elevation, etc.
