Wait im confused. How cant it sell 1 million? I read somewhere that the game sold out (in pre-orders) its 1st shipment. Can someone explain?

Yes, the Wii's user base is different. If anything evidence suggests that the Wii user base will exceed GC levels when it comes to popular franchises. Mario Party, Zelda, Mario, Paper mario all sold better than their GC counterparts, SSBB will probably sell better too. The one notable exception was Metroid, however MK is more like the other games than Metroid.

Gt is a huge game in Others, as big as Halo in NA, the game may not sell a million in the first weekbecause that's the demo, you are wrong, it's system seller.

I agree with tokillamockingbird, and I have a ps3 and a wii. (so i can say things about them.)


A lot of Sony fanboys hype the crap out of games that they know won't do mega numbers. (though we know gran turismo well.)


Before Yakuza 3, people were expecting it to sell over 300,000 first week and the Ps3 would beat the Wii that week! And when it came out it managed a healthy number, but less than 300,000 People then said that it is doing better than the Ps2 version and all that crap and it will reach 800k in Japan.



Sony fanboys are irritating! Nintendo fanboys tend to be more calm and collecting! 360 fanboys aren't even as bad as the Sony fanboys! (which i used to be Sony until the Wii arrived.)


also, ssj12 that doesn't make no sense, no nothing!!! The cube's kart hit 6.80 mil on a userbase of 21 mil. A lot of cube owners are getting Wiis as I know of! (except leo-j:p)

The Wii's lifetime is guaranteed to be over 60 milliion lifetime and you say it will only hit 7 mil lifetime? There are also a lot of Ps2 owners who jumped onboard the Wii. (myself being one of those people.) Who has never played a Mario Kart game b4. (i haven't. I've never played a Smash bros games either.)

 First off, let me commend you for being a Wii fan with Sasuke in your avatar, wish I could find that thread that was debating if all sony fans used that guy.

Now on to the post.  I HATE these kind of generalizations, they irritate me to no end.  Everyone thinks that the other fanboys are the most annoying.  Personally I think people only see the other side as having more fanboys, because those fanboys make statements that stick out in their minds as being against your beliefs.  I'm a Sony fan and I will tell you I see a huge number of Nintoendo fanboys, and you can call them calm and collecting if you want, but they seem far less than that on my side.  On the other hand I don't see the Sony fanboys as that bad because I want they same things they want I suppose, so I don't find their hopes annoying.

Anyone who thinks that a certain console's fans are, without doubt, worse than another consoles fans just isn't looking at the comparison objectively.  All fanboys suck equally.

ofcourse there won't be a 1million opening week for GT5p , but I expect a good 300k followed by maybe 200-250k in 2nd week (europeans are not first day buyers and GT5p released on friday in many countries, so it only has 2-3 days of sales in week 1) - Mario Kart Wii should be able to do somewhere between 500-700k in first week in europe, so ofcourse it should win this duel
