Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft: Xbox Scorpio's power advantage over PS4 Pro 'will be obvious'

It will be funny because there were plenty of people who insisted it did matter who will now change their tune when their preferred console is on the losing end.  It's not about right or wrong, it's about the confirmation bias.

Yup, I agree. MS got killed for doing the whole "900p is OK because 900p upscales to 1080p, you can't tell the difference", but PS4 Pro basically selling the same bag of milk is A-OK.

Either make a 4K console or don't make one at all, but don't gimme this "behold the glory of 4K!" stuff when your system can't even display native 4K nor can it run 4K movies.

I don't understand your reasoning.

You're buying the xbox one s because Sony rushed it and didn't make a proper 4k machine which the xbox one s isn't either and you think Sony should get criticism for releasing a weak console compared to what is effectively an imaginary one as of right now.

Both points seem to conflict unless all you wanted was a 4k movie player that wasn't a "proper" 4k gaming machine (in which case just buy the xbox one s, which again isn't a "proper" 4k machine just as you are mad about the ps4pro, because it's a 4k movie player).

I am not sure how you can criticize Sony for releasing a weak machine as it'll be quite a bit more powerful than the non "proper" xbox one s you claim to be buying.  At this point going by your logic MS should be getting your criticism and if and when the scorpio releases and we actually know what it is would be the time to dump on Sony wouldn't it?  It also makes no sense the 4.2-6 tflops is ok to criticize but Sony's next machine better be more than 10 tflops.  The whole thing seems convoluted.

Alittle difference here because the XBS does not and has been stated as not a 4k gaming machine where as the PS pro is stated to do 4k gaming which with its power out put wont be native. XB slim is sold as a Xbox1 with a 4k player attached to it.

Bet they're worried about PS5 though.

PS4 Pro won't sell that much because isn't really a good deal for general consumers and Xbox Scorpio will be released too late, since we will probably know about PS5 by then. Both will probably underperform.

If he was just upset about the 4k player not being in a ps4pro I could understand that but it's morphed into upset over it not being a proper 4k machine at all and makes less sense since he has stated he is buying the xbox one s which also isn't a proper full 4 k machine.  It also seems odd to start criticizing the ps4pro because it's weaker when we know nothing about the scorpio as of yet.  Like I said, as of when it launches, it will be the more powerful machine and you'd think one would wait till the scorpio launches or we know what it is before we jump on the ps4pro as we did the xbox one OG for being weak considering it's the most powerful on it's launch time.  Once the scorpio launches then by all means it'll be proper to do the multiplats are better on it then ps4pro comparison threads but we don't know what it is yet.

Given that the relative power gap between a Scorpio and a PS4Pro is almost exactly the same as the relative gap between the PS4 and the XBO, I'd kinda expect that to be the case. Should be as noticeable as the gap is between those two, perhaps somewhat less due to diminishing returns.

Could be larger than that because MS has considerably more memory bandwidth and could go for a considerably better CPU on top of a GPU that's 2 TFLOP-ish better.

The relative bandwith difference between a normal PS4 and a normal XBO is way higher than the bandwith difference the PS4P and the Scorpio will be. So like I said, the relative gap will be about the same as between a normal PS4 and a normal XBO. Noticeable, but not massive.

Its 50$ more than the 1TB Xbox One Slim.

Its 3 times as powerfull.

Thats a "good deal" for the general consumers.

Its 720-900p on Xbox One Slim

vs

1440p-1800p on PS4 Pro

Thats alot of differnce for 50$, the only loss is if your a big movie watcher, that likes to buy 4k Blu-ray discs.

But if what you want is a games console, the PS4 Pro offers ALOT for 399$.

We're not going to see a PS5.. we are just going to see upgrades to a Playstationsystem, an Xbox system and so on. Just like the PRO and Scorpio. I truly believe that will be the case, didnt even someone from Microsoft said something along the lines?

I'm not particularly impressed by the PRO version of PS4, it's a half-baked 4k-system. Also not impressed by Xbox having the Scorpio released as late as next winter. But still, their system will support 4k to the fullest and that could possibly be my first 4K-system. I wont trade in my regular PS4 for a NEO ( a much cooler name than pro :P )

Yes Microsoft!

Beat this out of the park!

Show how important that Power Advantage is/will be!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Microsoft should be really worried instead of being proud. PS4 Pro is going to destroy the whole Xbox branch just like the PS4 did!
