Possibly. I think that with the revenue that they could gain from mobile, and hopefully the new generation of kids that come in, it will encourage Nintendo to spend more resources, money, and focused effots (that they'll have gained thanks to mobile) to take more risks and be as bold with their franchises on their system like they were before the 8th generation. Like I was stating in an earlier comment.

Based on how they handled their Wii/DS success, I'd say that won't be the case. If you are making a lot of money doing something you'll more of that, not the opposite.

Nintendo didn't invest in many "epic" games in the Wii/DS era nor did they invest in any new studio purchases or anything like that for the "epic" game audience. There was however a helluva lot more party games.

I'm having trouble remembering all of the epic games Nintendo invested in during the Gamecube/GBA era...

They could make a Zelda game like the DS Zeldas (touch based), I wouldn't be surprised if that's already in development honestly.

They could spin off the DS style to mobile for good and keep the grown link on NX. You cannot keep the two styles on one device i think in any case.

Haven't tried those - not Rayman at least. Most endless runners are boring as hell after 2 minutes

Doesn't really matter when the gsme isn't free to start, does it ?

I hope they have a demo or something, though! I'm interested in trying this game, just to see if it's any good - but I won't pay for it. Unless it's like $2 or something

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

It is free to download and start. You can play a small portion of the game for free, but after that you have to pay for the rest of the game (one time fee).

Hasn't the news already arrived here? Miyamoto mistook the premium price.
The game is free with IAP, it even says so in the official site: http://supermariorun.com/

I'm still in shock. Can't believe Miyamoto was there.

Imagine the craziness if you could go back in time and post here 2 years ago and tell people that Super Mario for iPhone would be Nintendo's big holiday 2016 title ... lol, people would lose their shit.

I lol'd cuz it's true!

Regarding your comments about mobile revenue and the possibility that NIntendo might focus even more on mobile games on the console games expanse; the more I think about it, the less likely that seems, IF the NX is a hit or a moderate success (I'm talking like 50m HW units sold or something). Zhuge posted some interesting graphs on twitter some days ago, about Nintendo's profits. 40% came from console games and another 40% came from hardware. That's 80% of the total revenue. I highly doubt that their mobile segment will over shadow that. At most it'll be an even split between their traditional revenue stream (HW+SW) and mobile, but I doubt they'll start to favour mobile over their traditional incomes.
