I think it was a bad move to schedule this conference the same day as Apple's, it will be a little bit overshadowed in tomorrows news

This event is going to get plenty of coverage in all the places it was going to anyway. If at least two new pieces of hardware are announced alongside a game or two then it will not be overshadowed significantly by an endless runner on mobile, no matter what name is behind it.
