Forums - Nintendo - A (delusional) arguement for Nintendo becoming third party developer.

Producing their own proprietary hardware is too important and prestigious to them. Nintendo would have so many ego's shattered if they had to rely on their enemies hardware to sell their games.

If they will ever have to go third party for whatever reason, I hope they'll go PC only, just to piss off the people who always wish Nintendo games will appear on their console of choice some day. (This is not aimed at the TC).

IF Nintendo goes PC, which they should if they become a third party, they'll probably launch their own eShop store to get all the profits possible, which in turn will also piss off PC gamers that will complain because they don't launch their games on Steam.

That way, Nintendo will still be able to piss off everybody, both on consoles and on PC.

OT: Something similar said the Sega die hard fans when they left the hardware market: "just until they get in the green again and can come back with a new and great machine". But things don't work that way and once their games appeared on other platforms, their consumers moved on accordingly and never looked back.

And the same would happen with Nintendo.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I doubt that'll do much. The people who aren't willing to buy Nintendo consoles right now won't change their mind if Nintendo does all that.

No... that is not a very good idea at all...

The only argument for Nintendo going third party is their hardware repeatedly failing, if they believe they cannot create another successful console then that is when they should go third party.

Imo, Nintendo should leave the business and take their games to the grave before ever going third party. Sometimes, it's better to die with dignity than go on living as a whore.

And why must one of the very best developers in the world go to the grave? That's sounds like ignorance about the company.

He ls saying they should take their IP with them and stop making games altogether before going 3rd party! No previous hardware company that went to making software only has been extremely successful up to this point, so why do we think that Nintendo would land on Playstation and Xbox and make huge strides of new fans.

The most likely scenario is them ending up like Sega and being a shell of their former selves if they did this...

As someone who thinks Sega are currently the best they've ever been.... I'd love that outcome

You are insane or don't know jack about sega's past.

I honestly want that as well. I wouldn't even mind mobile only since it would really piss off thsoe people.

Crazy idea indeed. Why would they even go back to doing consoles after dropping them? Just sounds kinda silly to me.

Yeah sega was in a really bad position financially before that happened. The dreamcast is still my favorite console.

The better option would be to release demos on the PC to advertise their games.
