Forums - Gaming - Are you buying Federation Force

To all those wallet voters: guys, this is just a spin off! This is NOT a real Metroid game. This is NOT where the series is heading to and will NOT replace traditional Metroid games. Just relax, alright? It's simply called Metroid Prime because the Metroid Prime series was made in first person mode. That's it.

Still looks like a rubbish game that drags the name of the series through the mud, while there's still no sign at all of the HD Metroid fans have been crying out for for years. It's been 6 years since the last main Metroid game and 9 years since the last good one. Nintendo just aren't listening to their fans.

I see that, I'm thirsting for a new Metroid game myself, too. 1) If Federation Force drags the name through the mud, what damage must the pinball game have caused? 2) As much as us die hard Metroid fans shout for a new game, we have to realise that this series is not as lucrative for Nintendo as many other IPs. 3) It had been 8 years between Super Metroid and Metroid Prime back in the day. Which of course still not fixes our need for a new game, sure. Just saying.

Metroid is not all that high in Nintendo's priority list and probably never had been. That's a sad truth, I guess.

If it comes with Breath of the Wild E3 demo disc as a preorder bonus then I might seriously give it a consideration. Hope next level game gets a good project after this game too.

If it turns out to be awful, it can only hurt the Metroid name.

The difference is that Pinball came at a time when Nintendo was actively making awesome full-blown Metroids, whereas FF comes at a time when we've been 6 years without a series entry, and this is all we get for the foreseeable future.

Metroid should be higher on Nintendo's priorities, not because it'd sell 10 million copies or anything like that, but because it would keep their fans happy and improve their "only makes kiddy games" image.

You know if this sells well enough, what will happend is instead of a new Metroid game, nintendo will just make a Federation Force 2.

No, never got into the Metroid series unfortunately, and this game definitely won't make me start
