We are now speaking to a wall, fellow VGCharters. If there is one thing I have learned it is that Leo-J will respond to taunts/trolls....but not to well worded retorts. Don't expect to see him return...unless someone flames him.

Hey leo-j you do know that your prediction is the most insane one on this entire site, I find it ironic that you have those predictions from others to show how ridiculous they are.

 The original idea was from a thread on another website. My artistic contribution was to draw it so the Wii went just slightly negative.

About the OP, the second year a console is on the market is typically the year it has the greatest sales. I can't fathom what the impetus for this thread was... has crazzyman hacked Leo_J's account? 

Fortune telling non-withstanding, I see no reason why the Wii will not follow the exact same sales record as the DS. It follows the same philosophy and has the same appeal.

The self-proclaimed hardcore gamers will slowly migrate over as the same pace as the complex 3rd party games that require longer developement times.

leo, i will tell u why we think wii will sell over 41mil by 12/31/08 (at bare minimum):

Nintendo stated they had shipped 20mil wiis by 12/31/08
Nintendo stated they are making 1.8mil wiis/month

1.8mil*12+20mil=41.6mil

some will be in pipeline, but similiarly some were in pipeline last year, so 21.6mil sales this year is a good number if they don't increase production at all

so all u have to do to predict 41mil sales is to believe that all the consoles will get sold by the holidays...so they don't have to sell out this month or next...just by holidays

to predict 45+mil like i and others do, u just have to believe nintendo will increase production this spring in order to make those extra 3.4mil consoles

First let me say, that Leo-J, did you happen to report me for trolling the other day? I should marder you if you did.

In conclusion, 33 million is probably a lot closer too the actual number than 50 million will be, however, 33 million is still a sony fanboy estimate of what you wish the number would be and not what you actually know it will be, which is higher. You should change it and stop your biased by being hopeful that the Wii might drop off in sales.

40 million is a fair bet. 45 if its lucky, 37 if it performs terribly. 33 is just pushing nonbelievability at this point. You don't think the Wii will sell really strong during the holiday season, regaudless of the reast of the year? There's your 33 million right there, November and December. Don't kid yourself. I know its wishful thinking that the PS3 will start making a comeback on the Wii, but your best hope at this pointis that the PS3 sells better, not that the Wii sells worse.

You made your prediction based on what you want and hope the Wii lead will be WW vs the PS3. All fanboys do. They don't use math, or make calculations.

that is 8.6 away from 33mil and 8.4 away from 50 mil

so not sure why u think 33 mil is a lot closer than 50 mil

You guys are expecting too much from the wii, you think demand will forever be this high, the fact is it will not. Even if my prediction is wrong the wii will not be in this demand forever thats a fact.

No one said that demand will be like this forever Leo-j, its just that you want it to drop now so that PS3 can catch up. Check PS2 demand, it was and is still high. Expect Wii to sell more than PS2 did.
