Forums - Nintendo - MCV: NX Graphics In Between A PS3 And PS4

Well this looks like the approach Nintendo is taking, you guys are just going to have to get used it and hope Nintendo used a decently powerful mobile chip because it looks like a hybrid console is coming whether you asked for it or not and not a "Nintendo Playstation 4".

I don't know why Nintendo fans are not keeping their expectations low when it comes to power. This is Nintendo after all. The last time they aimed to have a powerful system, handheld or home console, was in 2001 with the GameCube.

Personally, I think if these rumors are true, you're probably not going to see much of an upgrade from the Wii U, which is still damn good for a handheld. Which also probably does mean a lot of Nintendo games will launch on both. My advice? Just expect Vita graphics and you'll be pleasantly surprised when the NX launches, as it's graphics will definitely be better than that.

I understand the NX not getting Battlefield, Elder Scrolls, etc... but it needs games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Kingdom Hearts III.

That void will be filled by PC. Too much hassle to port in four platforms. NX will be ignored as usual.

Woah, your getting aggressive enough to generalize me with Curl-6 and Pemalite when it's not as if I dislike portables or less home premium experiences (heck it's the opposite when I usually like Nintendo handhelds enough to own them) but besides that I don't even know what the NX will look like since Nintendo has yet to unveil the damn thing ...

Those'll require some serious juice to run on ...

Have you seen how graphics heavy those 2 games are?

I dont think you can count on NX getting FF7R or KH3, if the rumors of it useing a tegra mobile chip, are true.

Yeah, that seems to be biggest problem here. It's a shame, games like KH3 could have decent sales on the NX.

It wasn't meant as an aggressive statement, just a matter of fact type of thing. Nintendo does what they want and it sounds like this is what they want (a non-traditional console).

Like the PS4 Neo and Scorpio leaks this has now been cross-confirmed by multiple reputable mainstream industry sources.

It'll just have to settle for awesome sales on the PS4.

Seriously, though, the NX might get a handheld version of its own.  The DS and PSP did.

A Tegra X2 will have some "serious juice" to it. Lets see if that's the direction Nintendo goes in.

Also I mean I think it must have some "juice" under the hood if Dragon Quest XI and Sonic 2017 are running on it, both are next-gen games (presumably DQXI is the PS4 version ported). Hopefully third parties start announcing more games because if there are more PS4/XB1 games being announced for NX, then it must be capable of ports.
