330 grams ain't happening. 600 grams is probably more realistic.

Then it will fail as a portable handheld. 400 gram would be barely tolerable.

Yet more people carry around iPads and Microsoft Surface and Samsung tablets that sell several times more than 3DS or Vita in the last 5 years.

The 3DS/Vita sold maybe 10-11 million combined last year, tablets sold almost 250 million.

Handheld enthusiasts may grumble about but I think the actual real general public has no problem with tablet sized/weight devices.

Uh, the PS Vita has had top notch graphics for years now. I'd rate the Vita right around PS3 graphics. The NX just isn't appealing to me yet. I'm plenty content with my Wii U and 3DS.

At 40 GFLOPS performance that just isn't true. Vita is no where close to a PS3, it's more like a PS2+ that runs at sub HD resolutions.

I don't believe this train of rumours anymore. There's been a little... too much talk about it lately...

so can this sell 100 million units life time?

To be honest I think Nintendo will be happy if it can match 3DS sales even.

60 million is enough userbase to sell a shit ton of games, and having all their games in one place means that things like Splatoon aren't cut off from 85% of their hardware buyers.

Mobile can become like their other pillar, and then merchandising/movies/theme parks can be another source of income, it's a decent enough future if Nintendo can manage that.

It's not coming til March 2017 so there is plenty of time for you to get bored of your 3DS and Wii U :p

Most 10'' tablets also weight less than 500 gram and most 7 - 8'' tablets weight less than 400 gram. Also the weight distribution of a tablet and a handheld are quite different.

My ancient iPad 1 3G with 730 gram felt a lot lighter than the 600 gram Nvidia Shield handheld, that felt like a brick.

people, a handheld with this type of graphics is unbelievable.

And at an affordable price? dear god.

Has the price been revealed yet? I'm interested in a handheld if it has a good library.

Zelda BotW basically confirmed this already so this rumor doesn't even tell us anything new. What we need to know is where exactly NX falls inbetween (hopefully closer to Wii U).

Well the only tablet with a Tegra X1 processor in it is a Google Pixel C. That's 517 grams.

A Wii U GamePad is 491 grams, I'm able to use that quite comfortably with no fuss.

I guess 500-550 grams might be possible here.

EDIT: Yeah Google Pixel C has a massive 9340 MaH battery too. 517 grams with a Tegra X1 processor. Not too bad. The display is 10.2 inches too, Nintendo won't need a display that large so they can save some weight there.

A lot of people carry these tablets around with an additional case/keyboard too which adds several hundred grams of weight to them to boot.
