If you like a lot of indies and digital games/and don't care at all about Nintendo en sony exlcusives.

But as someone who cares mostly about physical games.

Nope pc is getting worse.

this espacially wiht the Neo coming up and more powerfull hardware it makes PC gaming pretty irrlevant to me now

a console is the best and cheapest way to play games and always will be. it will also be the place for the biggest games and the most popular format.

last gen ps360 was utterly amazing i gamed daily and enjoyed it, but things change i dont have anywhere near as much time anymore so with my gaming pc ive got it plugged into my plasma and essentially i use it like a console its great

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Some console fans argue that PC gaming is too difficult to get into and too expensive. But its not! There are so many choices that you can build a PC with a decent enough rig to just run current gen game, or a high end PC to run them at the best setting, or anything that falls between these two.

Here are some of the things that make PC gaming better:

Free online Good Point

Can play all games released in the last three decades on one platform Emulation isnt really official software

Steam prices are cheap Consoles get sales on a weekly basis and you can always find cheap used games.

Supports mods Mods can be supported on consoles but its up to the devs

Can play a game at the highest settings possible Cool?

Can emulate older consoles Emulation apps aren't official.

Gets most indie games Can i see proof?

Simulation and RTS games that consoles lack I can agree with this but consoles do get some pretty good RTS and simulators.

Best controlsfor shooters are keyboard and mouse This is subjective

Also supports controllers for games that are better with them Consoles have Keyboard and Mouse support its just up to tthe Devs to allow it.

Accessories are cheaper You can get some cheap console Accessories also.

You can build a cheaper and weker PC than consoles or a better and more expensive one, you have so many options If you want to game on a PC there's no point to build a weak PC.

This gen it has become even better: How?

Will get all Xbox exclusives Good point

Can play some PlayStation exclusives Not official

Basically playing exclusives from both sides but at higher settings if they build a powerful PC

I'm a PlayStation fan but you have to be kidding me to say that consoles are better than PC's in any significant way.

- or just buy a console

Here are some of the things that make PC gaming better:

Free online

Can play all games released in the last three decades on one platform

-i can do the same just buy a PS2, PS3 and 4 thats 4 generations of 20 years in gaming

Steam prices are cheap

- they arent, they are only at a Sale just like in console gaming sales in their stores

Supports mods

- like cheats

Can play a game at the highest settings possible

- PS4 Neo and Scoprio will offer the same

Can emulate older consoles

- How about you try to emulate Windows 95 games?

Gets most indie games

-no not anymore

Simulation and RTS games that consoles lack

-RTS games are dead

Best controlsfor shooters are keyboard and mouse

- not when it comes to comfort

Also supports controllers for games that are better with them

- if you like to lose every MP match

Accessories are cheaper

nope, an Xbox One controller will cost the same

You can build a cheaper and weker PC than consoles or a better and more expensive one, you have so many options

 - you can buy a Vita Tv for 20 bucks, it can play a lot of japanese games on it like the new released Atelier Sophie or Digimon Cyber Sleuth

This gen it has become even better:

Will get all Xbox exclusives

Can play some PlayStation exclusives

- and no exclusives of its own

I'm a PlayStation fan but you have to be kidding me to say that consoles are better than PC's in any significant way.

- you are not a PlayStation fan

I can't play my digital and physical PC games on my old PC anymore :/ It's wifi module broke, can't connect to the internet anymore, no biggie just disable it, pc is still useful. However, the only game that still works is FSX, rest on it is all linked to Steam which wasn't closed in off-line mode so nothing runs. I tried using a wifi stick, yet Windows 7 can't verify the digital signature online so Windows 7 won't install it.
Sure I can find a different way to fix it yet it's not worth my time. Turn on the old ps2 and I can play my old physical games within 60 seconds instead.

I can't play my digital and physical 360 games on my old Xbox 360 anymore :/ The whole console broke due to RRoD, can't turn it on anymore. No biggie, a few of the games work on my Xbox One.

Are we now using broken hardware as argument? And why aren't the physical PC games working either? Is the DVD ROM also broken?

Sales on PC are typically better than on consoles, and most store sales are a joke compared to either.

I have most PS sales to be quite good. Specially when combined with PS+.

Not when you take "used games" into consideration. Sales on used games are usually great. Specially the buy two get one free, or buy one get 50% ones.

Sales on consoles have been getting a lot better in the last few years, I have to admit. But they're still generally not as good as they're on PC. PS+ improves them, but isn't it usually a relatively small effect?

I don't know about store sales you have where you live (they could be excellent for all I know), but I don't think I've seen or heard about many good sales over here. I suppose some could be good, but I really doubt they're still as good as on PC. Sale prices have improved a lot on consoles I'm sure, but PC still beats them.

It's all very personal. It depends on what matters to you.

For me, I don't want to be bothered with updates and upgrades, and an all-digital library. I like the plug-and-play convenience of console gaming, and its focus on the living room. There's also the matter of exclusives. I can't play The Last Guardian or Mario Kart 8 on PC - at least not legally. Yet even if all Nintendo, PS, and Xbox games were available on PC, I'd still invest in home consoles. They're just more convenient and practical for my lifestyle.

One more thing: I'd argue PC gaming peaked around 1993-2004. So I'd disagree with the thesis that PC gaming is the best it has ever been.

You are just as bothered with updates and upgrades with consoles as you are with a PC. Just like a console, a PC updates automatically, as do the games through Steam.

On what basis would you argue that PC gaming peaked around 1993-2004? What do you mean by "peaked"?

My friend plays The Witcher 3 on his PC on windowed mode on lowest settings.
PC master race

I was a die-hard PC fan from 1996, the year when parents bought first PC to me. Since then consoles became the joke for me. Im PC technician in short. I have 4 desktops and soon I will buy the fifth with 1080 most likely. Ultimate PC conf is very powerful platform, yes. FPS games are the best by far on k&m controls (for me of course) as RTS. But anyway I prefer to play on my Playstation consoles now. I love PS exclusives. And Nintendo's also. DKC, Super Mario, Pokemon etc. Again. Ultimate PC is great, no doubt, but not perfect at all. Some prefer console simplicity, some prefer physicals to resell, or to trade, or to share between friends etc. Not everyone can afford more than one platform. Thats why exclusive titles becomes so important.
I know some guys, who have a decent PC, but prefer to play on consoles more. Giving to each other physicals I think do the trick.)

But on PC you have to update and install drivers, and change the settings of each game to accommodate the power of your rig. For some, that customization is part of what makes PC gaming great, and I totally respect that. And you're right that modern consoles are becoming more and more like computers, which is an unfortunate development for me.

Same thing I always mean: it supported the best games at that time.
