I wonder based on the fantastic facts about the console such as being listed in a financial report under legacy consoles... because that really takes away from playing games on it, how many people who are so upset at the lack of new AAA games on the Vita, have played all the AAA titles which exist on the system from the first 2 years of its existence, I mean even if you just take things like the PS3 titles of Disgaea 3 and 4, the complete God of War franchise, every Final Fantasy game up til X-2, the metal gear franchise as far as 3 and including the PSP titles, 3 GTA titles, effectively every HD remaster of the main PS2 franchises, as well as the Vita's own breed of Little Big Planet, Wipeout, KillZone:Mercenarys, Resistance-Burning Skies, Resogun, Geometry Wars, The Senran Kagura Franchise, New Little Kings story, Dragons Crown, Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Muramasa the demon blade, Toukiden, Soul Sacrifice, Virtues Last Reward (oh it's sequel Zero Time Dilemma is out in 4 days) Rogue Legacy, Minecraft, Crash Bandicoot 1/2, Rayman Legends/Origins, The remaster of Grim fandango, The HD remakes of Strangers Wrath and Munches odyssey, New N' Tasty, Bit Trip Runner 2, Super Meat Boy, Super Stardust Delta, PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate HD, Hatsune Miku 1/2, Danganropa 1/2/3+spin off, Persona 4 Golden + spin off game, Axiom Verge, Oh the prequel to disgaea Phantom Brave... as well as Disgaea 1/2 in the PSP area!, Dead or Alive 5+, Street Fighter X Tekken, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, SkullGirls,

eeeerrrr....

That silent hill dungeon crawler that was terrible....

But yeah sorry I'm sure at a point there I would normally just have typed etc. and moved on but the fact that the Vita doesn't have enough games on it to keep even the most picky of gamer satisfied for long enough to justify its purchase is just a farce really. (I was going to add imo, but based on another ongoing thread I wont, not because I feel the addition of it isn't required but simply because it is an actual fact)

Oh, and those fucking Prinny games... those are both on the thing, mores the pity, but I'm sure someone loves them... and Patapon1/2/3... and LocoRoco1/2/3 fuck... must stop adding to the no games which the Vita has access to!

WOW. Its easy to sometimes get lost on how many great titles that have been released on the Vita. That list is amazing. That new game Bloodstained look awesome as well. Which begs, If Sony were to ever had released a brand new GTA, MGS & Gran Turismo title on the Vita, what would be its legacy.

Well Sony can't really do much to bring those titles other than Gran Turismo to the console and with all their work going into GT:Sport right now it seems very unlikely, however it is of course possible to enjoy GTA5 and Metal Gear 5 on the Vita using remote play from the PS4, I often enjoy an hour or two of the PS4 in bed via the Vitas remote play, since I'm in a room one floor up from where our PS4 is the connection to the system is fantastic.

I know it would have been nice to see more games going directly (hand motion) to the little powerhouse that is the Vita, but often it's just a case of enjoying the absolute wealth of games that the platform has to offer.

Is bloodstained getting a direct Vita version btw? that's the upcoming spiritual successor to the Castlevania series isn't it? colour me interested! Also I've mentioned this a few times before but if you have a PS3 console handy (those things are dirt cheap now) and some older PSone games, if you have the PS3 on the same network as your Vita you can use that console to remote play any PSone disk you have through the Vita, just for some games which never made it to the store like In the Hunt, Xmen VS Street Fighter and Street Fighter EX+Alpha I make use of this feature a fair amount.

Also the Vita is exceptional for playing some of these older games which do get licenced for release on psn I mean

and

Compared to buying these games from somewhere like Ebay.

Love that the second one of those is in such shit condition, and still has an asking price of close to €150

The Vita most likely has no future, it never did.

That would technically mean the Vita never existed and is a paradox in time, someone call the doctor!

I still find its name to be the most ironic of any entertainment product ever.

No doubt. The support from SCE could've been much better.

SCE has never had enough of those smaller AA and A games (faster and less expensive to make) that are enjoyable on a handheld and instead of releasing some of their smaller games like Daxter, Patapon and LocoRoco they went with too expensive titles like Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Killzone: Mercenary that would've fitted far better as home console games anyway.

Though no matter what the Vita would've probably never achieved the same sucess as the PSP but they could've bought a studio like Level-5 prior to Vita's launch. While not developing many AAA games Level-5 develops a bunch of great AA handheld games which is just what the Vita is missing.

Dark Cloud + Chronicle
Rogue Galaxy
Yo-Kai Watch
Danball Senki
Jeanne d'Arc
White Knight Chronicles
Ni no Kuni
Wonder Flick
Professor Layton
Inazuma Eleven
etc.

Additionally, SCE's Japanese developers could've supported the Vita better with games like Gran Turismo, Ape Escape, Puppeteer, Knack and aforementioned Patapon and LocoRoco.

To quote the Bride from Kill Bill Vol 2: "Bitch, you don't have a future".

-and I'm a day one Vita owner.

I hoped one of you would make that comment.

I enjoy my Wii U very much but I don't think the quality of its library is that different from Vita's (which I also own and enjoy).

But it's amusing how much you guys seem to enjoy trash talking other consoles especially when the library of that console isn't that different from one that "could end up as the best Nintendo console ever if a new Metroid and F-Zero are announced".

:)

Nintendo published Wii U games (42):

Sony published Vita games (40):

1: Try visiting any positive Nintendo thread and see what the Sony fans say.  Unfortuantely....that negative street runs both ways.

2: As for the game totals, that's not a solid argument to make.  Vita came out ~2 years before Wii U and home consoles generally do not have the same game output volume as a portable console as the games are typically smaller.

3: Also, Nintendo has published 60 titles on Wii U rather than 42 (43 are retail).  3DS count is at 122 (73 are retail).  I'm also only counting 37 retail Vita titles (though 90 overall).

1: Yeah. Negativity and unnecessary hostility definitely run all ways. But visiting for instance one of those many positive Zelda threads I don't see nearly as many PS or Xbox fans acting all douchy. Zelda looks fantastic (I have it preordered for Wii U) and I like that the threads are almost exclusively people celebrating a great looking game. The ones without any interest simply stay out of the threads. After E3 I haven't spent a lot of time on VG. Lately work is taking up more of my time and I don't want to waste my short breaks rolling my eyes at awful comments on VG. Finally, Vita got a little love.... no, thread's full of trash talkers.

2: 2 years? Have I missed something? Vita was released early 2012 and Wii U late 2012, right? Yeah, generally portables have more games and Vita has as well (from your info Vita has 90 Sony published and Wii U has 60 Nintendo published). The 42 and 40 games I listed for Wii U and Vita respectively are the bigger games. Let me know if you think I forgot to list any for either of the consoles.

3: I didn't say anything about retail games. If we only consider retail games then Wii U has a bigger lead, yeah.

I'm not really trash talking but stating the obsiouv. The only games the Vita gets are Japanese games and indies. Sony isn't supporting it anymore while the Wii U is still getting 3 more big games. The Vita is pretty much dead and the Wii U is also. I don't hate Sony handhelds. Hell the PSP is my favorite handheld of all time but the Vita was a disappointment to fans and to Sony. Same can be said for the Wii U

Machina said:
I quite like the Vita,, although I use mine like once a year at most, but let's be honest it barely has a future. Japanese releases and the ability for Western devs to release their PS4 download titles as cross platform are the only two things keeping it going.

No, you're right. Regarding new releases it barely has a future. At least it gets a few enjoyable games now and then (especially if you like Japanese games).

But let's not disregard its library as "no support" or "no games". That's tiresome to people enjoying the system.

The amount of threads talking trash aren't exactly helping sustain a strong community. It's probably my last month here :(
