Why remaster a game that's only a few years old? Heck, on the PC mods probably have it looking better than even this remaster will.

I'd much rather they either focus on getting a new elder scrolls title out or, if they're going to remaster a game, make it Morrowind! Comparatively few got to try that, it's very dated, and it's never been on a console. That game was excellent, and with updated visuals I imagine people would be very excited for it.

Horrible combat? Show us what you can do with a sword and shield.
Hope it's 60 FPS, so much better on PC.

This is basically full price. I picked up Uncharted 4 day 1 from Amazon for £39.99

It cost me £50. This will be retail price so you'll probably be able to pick it up a little cheaper if you shop around.

Morrowind released on the original Xbox, both an original and a GOTY edition containing all of the DLC. Granted, it would have been nice if it found its way to a more popular console.

Not a bad price either.

What? That's a terrible price!

Remasters shouldn't be full priced releases! Dead Island released recently and is about £14 to buy individually or about double that to include Riptide.

Uncharted Collection was full priced, but that was 3 games. Skyrim is just 1 game, should be a fraction of that price!

That is the beauty about this generation, you can "remaster" a game and sell it a full price or near full price. Also Last of Us Remaster to counter your point.

Oh really? Didn't notice, and I had the system.

I must admit the thought of a remaster for Morrowind is very enticing, but I should stop torturing myself lol

Hardly a new thing. Most developers nowadays just call it a remaster when in reality it's just a port from last to current gen.

Also while it's obviously a good thing when those games are cheaper, they don't have to be. There was the XCOM 2 console announcement yesterday. Obviously this one can't be sold at full price, right? I mean the game was already made for another platform and porting the stuff is cheap and not a lot of work compared to creating the game.

You can launch the game at whatever price you want but the market will determine the actual price.
As metioned The Uncharted Collection launched at full price, was bundled with lots of consoles, was very cheap on PSN during some sales and after Christmas you could already get it for $30 (according to Amazon.com). In Europe Halo 5 was massively overshipped at launch and thus very cheap to have. I feel pity for those who paid 60€ or even 70€ for it as the price quickly fell to 40€ a week or two after it launched.
Bottom line. If people are willing to pay 40 pounds for Skyrim Definitive Edition, the price won't get much lower in the weeks and months to follow. If they aren't, the price will quickly fall in a matter of a few weeks.

I think the price will go down quickly, this game sold really well on every platform, and has been the focus of so many Steam discounts everyone can just play it on PC for scraps.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
