I'm still a little shocked at Blizzard not sending review copies.

I'm guessing they just didn't want to open the servers early. Maybe they weren't able to because they were doing work on the game based on feedback from the open beta.

Or maybe they're Blizzard and so they said "Fuck it!! They'll all buy our game regardless" and then we did

Honestly...didn't love it when I played the beta, but sure.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I'm assuming that this is one of those times where a game gets scored well without the media taking price into account. I enjoyed the beta but I don't see a $60 experience here, with all due respect to the game.

You can get it for $40 on PC where most of the reviews are. I think it's safe to say the meta will be a little lower on consoles where it costs $60.

Oh, at $40 it's much more understandable. I didn't even realize.

I think that's hard to judge until we see how long the community sticks with it.

To me, the best way to judge if a game should be full price or not isn't the cost of development (which was actually absurdly high for this game) or the visuals, but rather how many hours of fun it provides the person who buys it.

If the average person who winds up purchasing this goes on to get 100's of hours of enjoyment out of it, it's certainly worth full price more than some game like The Order 1866, which was beautiful but pretty much over in ten hours. It's why I had no issue with Splatoon!'s price, a game that has perhaps the most obsessive fanbase of any I've seen in years.

That's just my opinion anyway. We get too hung up on trying to assign a price instead of focusing on how much enjoyment we'll get out of the game, which is the only thing that actually matters.

Well pricing can matter. It's a Blizzard game so it'll retain a core fanbase forever but for casual shooter fans it could just be another Evolve. I enjoyed the game but I saw very little value in it, but I'm not a TF2 guy either. I can see where some people will dive all over it but the game already has two different prices apparently, and that should affect things if we're talking about possibly the second highest rated game of the gen. From what I've seen, nobody has mentioned price thus far, to the point that I found out literally just now that it's on PC for $40 standard.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Really? For a multiplayer only game? Good on it, but I will never touch it.

That's a great score! If only my pc could run the game...

it's a great game, but it seems like overwatch lacks content, i think the score will be lowered, perhaps middle 8, perhaps 8.4.

As far as the price goes, this is a Blizzard game. It's going to be supported and it's going to get content added. Blizzard isn't a company that throws something out there and then replaces it a year later.

That's cool, mate. Wish I have time for this game.

Its funny when Overwatch was announced i felt like i was one of the few people who were really excited about it, but then my hype started to fade off while everyone else got excited, i didnt even got to play the beta and that got everyone more hyped.

I still dont have the hype i did back then, but with this score i know this is a game i gotta get eventually.

The Division syndrom, the meta will go down to 80-85, if reviews are logical.
