Forums - Sales Discussion - Uncharted 4 first week sell-through surpass 2.7 million, fastest-selling PS4 first party title to-date in NA and PAL Region

Some months ago I said U4 first month (not week) would beat Gears 4 lifetime sales. Does it still seem so doubtful?

Btw about the region thing, technically we already knew it wasn't #1 WW. Cause Knack sold +300k in Japan FW.
Knack is the true Uncharted killer.

But Gears of War isn't the killer app it once was not withstanding the difference in user base. Why would there be any doubt about it, furthermore whats so impressive about it if it does?

Sold through, includes digital, includes bundles but the only bundle released was the limited edition custom Ps4 one which, again.... Is a limited release. As of current, there is no standard ps4/U4 bundle

Thanks. 2.7 million physically would just be insane, but I'm still surprised its done so well.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

The dev team nearly doubled over the predecessor and the marketing campaign was the largest in PS history. Excuse me for not thinking that this tracking slightly over TLoU and UC3 with its much smaller team size and budget, is not a raging success.

Naughty Dog split to 2 teams after Uncharted 3, and have been working on more than Uncharted 4 for over a Year already. It's simply not right to judge, because we have no idea how many people are working on which projects.

Even then like I said before, we have no idea what Sony or ND expect from the title. To say that Uncharted 4 is anything other than a success at this point, where all data we have tells us it's the best launch in ND history, is nothing more than downplaying the brilliant launch.

Edit - And get out of here with the "slightly over TLoU and U3". TLoU sold 1.3 Million units in a week, less than half of what Uncharted 4 managed. Data also tells us that Uncharted 3 had a poor launch in comparison to Uncharted 4.

The bundle argument has always bothered me......like for instance that year around Holidays when they were doing the Infamous and something else bundle for PS3 I was getting my nephew a PS3 for Christmas BUT I was also giving him those games of mine all I could find was that bundle for a little while so guess what I did...I DIDN"T GET THE BUNDLE....you are not FORCED to buy a bundle. You get it IF YOU WANT IT...so why people feel as if a bundle somehow takes away from the sales of a game is beyond me...most bundles that are bought are bought because someone wanted that game. There have been numerous PS4 bundles and I did not have one but guess what I didn't get any of them I got the one I wanted with the game I wanted the LE UC4 bundle. I just wish we would let the bundle crap die because it helps nothing and proves nothing...imo that is anyway...Sorry for the off topic rant....congrats again to ND

Thanks for saying that ! i agree 100%, it seems like People like to bash on Games and downtalk everything. When a Game is bundled, they always say"Oh the Game only sells that much because its bundled and the cheapest!" Completely BS in my opinion.

It's actually more than likely at this point, taking worldwide sales into account, that Uncharted 4 had a better 7 day launch than The Last of Us and Uncharted 3 combined.

If not, it's damn close.
