Forums - Sony - Uncharted 4's Graphics Are Beyond Incredible! (*-screenshots may include spoilers-*)

Uncharted 4's graphics are...

Beyond incredible. 586 46.62%

Incredible. 381 30.31%

Great. 146 11.61%

Good. 65 5.17%

Decent. 31 2.47%

Less than decent. 22 1.75%

Other...comment below ;-) 26 2.07%

Total:1,257

Sometimes Uncharted 4 can look average, but there are also moments that look amazing. Like being in a crowd of people around chapter 10 and 11.

Any gripes I have with this game ain't with the graphics.

There's no doubt in my mind Uncharted 4 is the game to beat in the graphics department right now. Overall, it's just amazing to look at.

GTA5 still has the better water, however. I just have to be real here. So does Assassin's Creed IV. I guess Naughty Dog has a hard time with water effects.

Quite a nice crowd without any slow down
Character detail level is incredible
Textures are a mixed bag yet they went overboard with reflection quality

I'd reckon your TV settings may be a little off there, you can get better than this with some fine tuning,

Those are not pictures off the tv...
Looks better on tv as those are captured with limited RGB range, and now displayed on a full RGB screen. Plus the upload to facebook didn't do it any favors. Too lazy to set it to full RGB and copy the PNGs off the ps4 with a USB stick :)

Your tv isn't going to take a games graphics from "meh" to "incredible" just by upping the fucking gamma.

This thread, while curious, is so silly.

Not just gamma but chaning it to "game mode" as well as motion blur effects, offset, contrast, dynamic contrast, white balance, ISO, vibrancy, motion lighting, colour and colour tone, black tone, hdmi black levl, dark tone, flesh tone, Mpeg noise filter, Hdmi noise filter, digital noise filter, LED motion plus....theres more settings than that I just can't think of them off the top of my head. What kind of TV are you using? Something from the stone age?

Thanks for the laundry list.  You could name 40 more options and it still wouldn't explain a game going from average to jizz on the walls amazing.  Unless your settings were all set to completely black/zero, I'm not buying it.  It almost sounds like you're marketing for ND,  which is why this is so silly.

I've had some pretty gorgeous games on my tv from the stone age and not once has changing the settings made a change so astronomical.  And should you want to argue "buht itz naughty DOgg gwafix!  Unchawted isdabes!", The Last of Us, Xenoblade X and MGS5 would like a word with you.

It can make a significant difference. We had endless debates about 360 vs ps3 graphics, which mostly boiled down to washed out vs crushed blacks, or limited vs full RGB captures and displaying on the wrong device.

Anyway a simple brightness/contrast tweak to 'stretch' the image to full RGB and a bit of simple color balance does this

A lot closer to how it looks on tv, at least on the monitor I tweaked the picture on. (still compressed file though)

Holy lighting effects Batman!  How can you tell which one is the good one?

Seriously, that's your incredible jump?

Top is unplayable, bottom is incredible!
Whatever, it looks great on tv, even better in motion.
My incredible jump is closing this laptop and playing it on a 92" screen instead :p

Haha trust me the later chapters will just keep getting better and better. You think you've seen the best one then they show you even better ones each chapter, it's astonishing.

Maybe we should have a separate thread for Uncharted 4 photos, or maybe just update the console screenshot thread. But here I am sharing a few of my photos here(i have 500+ and countring) anyway. lol

This one is great. Enter this in the GAF UC4 photo competition:
