Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox Backwards Compatibility Officially Supports Multi-Disc

From a Microsoft spokesperson:

"Yes, 'Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut' was the first multi-disc Backward Compatible title added to the program. We know fans were asking for this feature and our engineers worked hard developing a solution to enable it so we could further expand the titles included in Xbox One Backward Compatibility. We're continuing to listen to our fans on Xbox Feedback and work with our publishing partners to grow out library of Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles and will work to include more multi-disc games."

RPGs age ALOT better than shooters. Would be the sensable thing to do.

If they do add Lost Odyssey to the backwards compatibility list they also need to add it to games on demand on the 360. L.A. Noire would be another good multi disc game they should add to the backwards compatibility list.

For physical games swapping discs shouldn't be an issue. However selling digital versions of multi disc games is an obstacle I'm not sure they will resolve. More people will play the multi disc games if they are sold cheap digitally.

A mistake in this article by the way, its the Battlefield games that have texture installs. Technically that was never an issue because that stuff is treated as DLC. Also, they already found a solution for a GOTY titles with second disc installs like Fallout 3. When you insert the DLC disc, it downloads all the content.

Anyhow, there are numerous notable multi disc games on the 360. Glad they found a solution for X1 BC.
