I've been looking into the Razor "Blade" as well ever since these patents first surfaced and what Nintendo wants to do is fundamentally different. The blade can only be used in an "Or" situation with the Razor, it doesn't work in tandem with the laptops gpu to provide more power. Plus Nintendo's network and the SCD device would be intertwined with the systems OS to always provide a connected peer to peer network in concert with a traditional external servers. The Blade is definitely the closest thing that resembles this patent that Nintendo filed, but it's way to expensive of a device to be mainstream. 

So many pattents related to Nintendo recently. It would be interesting to see how many actually make it to the market.

Hopefully Nintendo will start talking about the NX soon! I really want to know more about this SCD.

It is funny reading the forums like this is a new concept lol.  Perhaps for consoles it is haha.

Interesting news, we should see the NX in a near future! Hopefully before E3, that way they can reveal lots and lots of games at E3 and just have small segment dedicated to the actual HW, or answer any questions that was unanswered during the original reveal.
