I can confirm this. Save for a few that I am not missing by not owning a PS4, some of these games are of... dubious quality... 

I am missing only three or so games... 

What? I mean, I can consider 2 games that might not be good, but the rest are good bets to not be of "dubious quality".

Xenoblade X best JRPG of the gen? yeah maybe if it's the only one you played this gen xD

I mean it was good, it was "ok"... it also had a huge amount of issues plus the story was kinda crap.


Of that list i can't wait for DQH2,DQXI,FFXV,VII Remake,NieR,Nioh and Ni No Kuni 2.

I disagree. For it to be perfect it would need certain JRPGs that simply aren't there. Like FF VIII!

Well that depends on who you're comparing it against. Only against other 8th gen consoles? Yeah, fair enough. But if you're saying perfect JRPG machine as in better than any/all others and hence comparing it against PS1/PS2 as well then yeah these games really need to prove their quality for such a comparison.

Come on have you even played a lot of the jrpgs on PS2? espacially the earlier ones? Games like Orphan, Eternal Ring, Breath of Fire 5 and this one Frontier Saga game are forgotten for a reason.

JRPGs were never better before since the PS1 era

Never really been into JRPGs, but there are some games on that list I'm looking forward to playing.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

You know, I'm feeling the same way.  FFVII PSOne brought me back into console gaming, and it was the JRPGs that kept me fed.  Well, I feel the same is occuring with the PS4.  Currectly, the PSP, DS and the VITA  is giving me more than enough JRPG's to deal with, but I'm impressed with what I've seen coming out on the PS4.
